Dan KP says the DoF shortlist has been whittled down to Tim Steidten, Lee Dykes and Tiago Pinto, with Johannes Spors out of the running

Don't suppose they can whittle it down a little further and get Pinto off the list, given he's a Mendes bagman?

So after the defeat to Everton, De Zerbi said words to the affect

‘that’s not us, you’ll see the real Brighton when we play Arsenal’

    and we did

that’s the type of mentality I want

would our players have responded? That’s a different thread

To be fair to our players, they didn't get absolutely battered by Everton.
    Really strange result.

Somebody needs to convince Levy to get Spors back on the shortlist

Tottenham SlotSpors is right there, right there

Xabi Alonso’s said he’s staying at Leverkusen for next season. That’s now about 4 or 5 contenders for the job that have either rejected us, gone elsewhere or remained committed to their current clubs. Going well, boys and girls.

@Citizen Kane. I haven’t forgotten to do a new poll either, I’m just struggling to find enough names to fill it <laugh>

Sensible move by him. Why any young up and coming manager would come to our ****show of a club and risk tarnishing their career is frankly beyond me.

It's still a pretty lengthy shortlist, although candidates are going to start dropping like flies as we approach the summer and clubs/managers seek to firm up plans and hit the beach.

    Slot
    Glasner
    De Zerbi
    Enrique
    Frank
    Kompany
    Amorim
    Potter
    Mason

Might be one or two I've forgotten but that's 9 options, I'd be pretty happy with 3 of them (Slot, De Zerbi, Frank), ok with 4 of them (Glasner, Enrique, Kompany and Potter) and against just 2 of them (Amorim and Mason).

    Bracing myself for Brendan Rodgers.

Kompany inked a new deal with Burnley so rule him out.

I don’t think Potter has been linked this time around either, not substantially anyway.

I’d also rule Mason out, done nothing to suggest he’d be worth investing time in and I don’t think the club are considering him long term.

I reckon it’s currently between Slot and Enrique, no one else has really been heavily linked. Things might change in weeks to come though.

Lots of SM on contact with Arne Slot although we have no DOF , could be a case of what comes 1st Chicken or the egg , what ever I would be happy with him

The obvious reason to maybe make a run on Slot now is that his current contract reportedly has a £6m buyout clause, but the new contract Feyenoord are offering him would obviously bump that up

In terms of the bottom line, a £6m buyout is comparative peanuts considering we paid Pompey £5m for Redknapp the best part of fifteen years ago (and, prior to that, I recall we paid more for Ramos, which was money well spent...) which is presumably why we're suddenly that little bit more motivated, and considering the bumper contract Feyenoord are offering him is £3m a year again it's almost literal peanuts to offer the same - though I assume we'll probably be offering somewhere around the £5m mark as a baseline

There's another way to look at it, though: Rafaela Pimenta is his agent, aka the person who inherited Mino "****" Raiola's client list, most obviously Haaland and Pogba, which potentially means Tiago Pinto isn't in the running to be DoF given he's a Mendes fanboy

...also, Pimenta has two managers on their payroll, and the other is Martin Jol

Imagine if Slot takes the supposed improved contract that feyenoord are offering him.

it’s starting to feel like this could be another Nuno summer where we end up with who ever is left.

Remember when Marcelo Gallardo left River Plate and everyone was linked with him?
Still hasn't gone anywhere. Radio silence.

I have a horrible feeling about this too.

It's exactly the sort of tone-deaf brainwave typical of Levy that he thinks is a genius idea.

I’m assuming there’s something very convincing about Slot which is making many spurs fans desperate for us to hire him? I’ve seen bits of feyenoord, but I do wonder if it’s desperation kicking in and he’s now the best option there is, but not necessarily a brilliant one.

A similar example I can think of is Ten Haag, and I’m not entirely convinced, despite him winning the Carabao. (hardly the most challenging of opponents, was it?)
In the PL he’s only managed to win 3 more games than us this season.
Many of our fans were desperate for him to manage us not so long ago.
