Probably Labour’s fault that one. Half of asylum seekers receive legal aid and half don’t despite what they should be receiving. Many live hours away from any of the legal guidance they’re entitled to. If deportations are declining markedly in recent years then either the human rights activists have suddenly got a lot more powerful or the government are, intentionally or not, failing.
Plus the Tory scum are still beholden to the EUROPEAN Court of human rights . Which dictates many of our policies. Speaking to Labour voters about immigration is pointless because most don't believe people can be illegal & anyone should live where they want . Usually 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants that have no loyalty to this country . Labour voters are generally younger and poorer but the majority don’t hate Britain or demand free stuff. Currently the free stuff seems to be going to those who least need it including those with connections to the government. When have I boasted about returning to Israel, you nutjob? I don’t plan to go there any time soon unless your lot take over here. I’m not Israeli and never have been. More working age foreigners would be a good thing as we have a high dependency ratio and ageing population. Other measures that could relieve this in the long term, such as those proposed at the current right wing fruitcake Tory splinter group conference, worsen the dependency ratio in the short term.
