Out of interest, BR, have you actually been to Israel? It is far from overrated. The people, the culture, the food, the history are worth every shekel. I absolutely adore Israel, even with the strife that lurks nearby. Dubai, on the other hand, was rather boring.
Yeah. I did the tour when I was 16 most jewish kids do for a month though we didn’t get to do a lot of it because of bombing around Haifa. I’ve been back since to Eilat and Tel-Aviv but not for ten years or more. Tel-Aviv is cool but most hotels are quite old and lacking compared to, for example, Dubai. I’ve done all the cultural/religious stuff and it’s not really for me though I’m glad I’ve ticked it off. Bloody expensive though especially with the pound in the bin. Dubai is quite marmite but I quite enjoy the utter lack of soul in a way. Just good weather, good hotels and good food. I don’t drink massively so don’t really notice the booze prices. Marrakech is great for something closer and a bit more cultured. Going to Seville later this year which I’ve heard good things about and my Spanish is pretty good so that’ll be pleasant.
Israel is like Orlando but with less culture, Tehran on the other hand is amazing great beaches & fewer Western tourists
