Pity we were playing away rather than at home! However, I have a similar story regarding a Blackburn fan the wife works with. It started at Boxing Day when he posted on FB that he wanted to do the double over "those sad makems and put them in their place" so me bring the dutiful husband responded to the post for her and he's since posted other things about how Blackburn were going to best us! Now since they did us a favour (which I thanked him fully for <laugh>) he now thinks we were lucky and we'll get beat by Luton. His predictions are nailed on as usual :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Most of the bitter opposition fans stupidly use Sunderland's incredible support as a stick to try to beat us with ...

... because we go to their grounds, take over and out-sing them.

Fair enough, their endless whinging is fine by me, it gives us all a laugh and confirms how tinpot they are.

It's also funny how they've all been told, by Sky, to call us Mackems when we probably have more who aren't than are.

If you're talking about those directly connected to shipbuilding we probably have more Geordies.

There's some weak minded people out there who never let ignorance interfere with their prejudice <laugh>

    We will attack
    We will win
We will have another trip to Wembley

Let's hope he's better than the one on Sat. How the Luton lad didn't get a 2nd yellow for that trip on Clarke is beyond me

    Hume’s headed goal on Saturday.
It was a low cross put in by Clarke.

There could be a good case made for more of these low crosses in because our little attackers can easily get their heads on them while giant defenders must bend down and be in some unnatural position to get their heads onto the ball. A high kick could lead to a penalty for us.

    Good point mate.

I noticed, for Hume's goal, they set up expecting us to 'do a Luton' and fling it aimlessly into a crowded area. Once it was obvious we were intent on a short corner it pulled them out of shape. They had to send three defenders out to try to stop the cross which helped us.

We played it back, forward and back again which created space for Hume. He was very clever and drifted around them so he had the run on one of the Ninja Turtles in the box. The defender next to Hume couldn't challenge, without giving away a penalty, and Hume didn't have to jump. Watch it back and see how much ground Hume travels in the box.

Launching crosses into their area when they're set up, is pointless but making them move their defensive line was pure quality ...

... top marks to Mowbray, that's obviously been endlessly worked on.

From 1.18 on this clip, you can actually see Luton panicking <laugh>

I don't think Huggins or Alese are fit enough to play (as in 90 minutes) so it comes down to whether you start with them or see how the game goes and then bring them on to deal with a potential late onslaught. I'd be tempted to start unchanged and bring them on later in the game.

I was about to share this bit and pint the same thing out:

But then the euphoria at the rather grandiosely named Stadium of Light was a bit much to take, too.

That article would be accepted if it was on a fansite or their local paper but instead it's written for a national paper and its all a bit weird!

Millwall are so well liked nationwide aswell! You will struggle to find anyone other than their own fans who didn't snigger at them ****ing it up.

I can never understand why we can’t start our next game the way we finish the last one, the first half seems to be always poor. Let’s hope it’s different this time and we start on the front foot.

TBH I think it's deliberate especially away from home, as at Preston.

You know the home team are under pressure to get into us and we gradually take control and quieten their fans.

Luton were exhausted in the last thirty minutes and our subs were full of running ...

... Luton will puff their chests out and be straight at us, once we settle we can start to press and start finding gaps.

We don't need to chase the game and, hopefully, the referee will be strong.

The game's on Sky so he won't want to be bullied by Luton crowding him and shouting all game.

    @SkySports_Keith
Forwards Alex Pritchard & Patrick Roberts are both “touch & go” for tomorrow’s play-off at Luton, says Tony Mowbray.
Defender Aji Alese trained today and is set to be on the bench at Kenilworth Road #SAFC ⚪️
