Sir Rodney plans to stop illegal immigrants on small boats entering the UK by processing them on French soil & shipping them over here. Change the law to allow them to vote in our elections, call another referendum. Then all the refugees fleeing France & the EUROPEAN UNION can vote to rejoin it . To lefty progressives this makes perfect sense
I shouldn't have had to wait 50 years to get a vote (referendum) likewise no one should have to wait another 50 years to decide if they want to rejoin. I'm all about fair play, but it shouldn't be a one way street like it was before 2016. This is my whole problem with the EU a democracy should hold elections, I'm not saying it has to be every 4 or 5 years, but neither should it be 50 years. I hate a federal state and by operating what I see as a closed shop, I was only ever going to vote out - maybe if there had been regular voting I might not have felt the need to vote the way I did, but I will never know, because I wasn't given a choice. I have no confidence that Brussels and it's members will change this either, because it's all about ultimate power, in it's most extreme form.
The plebs don't vote for the EUROPEAN UNION supreme leader so nobody can vote Ursula-von-der-leyen out. Which is a dictatorship .
It don't have to be about individuals (meaning Ursula) it's a simple in or out, that is needed, if you don't approve of those that are governing, you vote out. We don't need to over complicate it.
As an EUROPEAN UNION member state we had no say on whatever rules Brussels dictated to us , with absolutely no chance of removing those making the decisions. Hungary being fined for refusing to accept a quota of illegals that Merkel invited In , that sort of thing .
If you read what I said in my first comment, that a vote should be had every x amount of years, then the problems you raise, don't exist, because if you don't like what you see or the way you have been treated, you vote out, simples. The EU would need to hold its members together, so if a simple voting system was installed, which it don't currently have, the EU, Brussels or it's members would ensure whoever is in power appeases the masses, if they don't then they lose members. Unfortunately that's not a system that can be installed as quick as you may like it to happen, but it's something that could be worked towards, and it's something that would keep me onside, albeit a bit late in my life now.
Hate Cameron , May, Johnson Sunak & the voters can remove them that's not how the EUROPEAN UNION works their system is closer to the CCP
