honestly, I don't think so. we have a 30mil player being quoted at 70 due to price inflation and a good world Cup. but whatever.
I'm unsure as well. Tbf I've only started looking at him closely since we've been linked, so I may be missing something - he looks decent enough, but not someone who I think will transform us and put us on another level. Mind you, I remember saying something very similar about Virgil. If Klopp thinks he can get a tune out of him, who am I to argue?
imo he is a good all round player but no stand out . Of the BHA players i would prefer Caicedo but he would be expensive .
I gave up trying to judge players before they join us (under Klopp) because I've misjudged most of them. I moaned about us signing Salah, didn't want Mane and thought Robbo was a poor backup at best. With Mac Allister, I liked it to when we signed Wijnaldum; looks alright but not breathe talking. Will see what Klopp did with him (if he joins)
No way we're getting to 73. I'd be happy just to get a win against Bournemouth, get 69 pts then have 2 games to stumble over the finish line. What you just touched on with transfers is my biggest concern with finishing out of the Top 4 as I think it would impact on our ability to attract the players we need/want.
I think he is better sitting back in a pair. We don't need transformation. We need reset. Diaz and Jota really fit does that up top. Midfield needs legs and keeping the kine up so if he is wijnaldum mark ii fine but at 70mil? Vvd though was always rolls Royce player but attitude was in question. I hope we at least work a swapsie with kelleher. The state 9f their reserve today on the ball. Steele? We can get a hefty discount playing swap.
Just watching the Arsenal / Brighton highlights. Why wasn’t Martinelli given a yellow / almost straight red for his jump into the Brighton player? Martinelli made no attempt to get the ball and hit the Brighton player high and with his elbow.
Personally convinced that these sort of "assaults" should be red and think the rules back me up SERIOUS FOUL PLAY A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Any player who lunges at an opponent in challenging for the ball from the front, from the side or from behind using one or both legs, with excessive force or endangers the safety of an opponent is guilty of serious foul play. That challenge clearly endangers the opponent due to the force of impact on the head with no excuse about trying to play the ball . Another obsession of mine is the deliberate tipping of players in the air which needs clamping down on with the worse examples being straight reds.
and then the question must be asked.... why were Brighton then allowed to kick Martinelli out of the game in vengeance with no consequences. two wrongs don't make a right. add in the amount of tactical fouls and screaming at ref or ball being kicked away being totally ignored. it was a terrible ref performance backed up by a lino who didn't know the rules. (flagged offside from a throw)
tipping needs to be dealt with. theres certain players who are always at it and never get any sanction at all. if harry kane tips a player next time then are we allowed kick him out of the game like what happened yesterday? the refereeing standards are terrible.
No one seems to give a **** at the top level for some reason, that sort of thing on a Sunday morning would always nearly result in a fight - it’s real ****house stuff
until a major player is carried off the park with a serious injury I really don't tj8nk anything will be done. I rarely see it in Europe. I might be wrong
