Strange that British passport holders working abroad in EUROPEAN countries aren't allowed to vote . Labour know the subservient class imported from the third World vote Labour that's why they want more .
We left the EU, mate. If they want to reciprocate that would be lovely. Currently migrants from some countries can vote here and others can’t and there’s disparities between different elections. If a wealthy French banker who lives and works here wishes to vote Tory then they should be able to IMO.
Non citizens aka UK passport holders can't vote in General elections, local elections are different people with residency status are allowed. The reason non citizens aren't allowed to vote in every civilised country in the World is to stop someone importing millions of migrants by opening the border in a never ending stream of migration. Irreversibly destroying the country just to stay in power. Pretty much like Biden's doing right now .
“Folks like me who are Caucasian, of European descent, for the first time in 2017 we’ll be in an absolute minority in the United States of America, absolute minority,” he said. “Fewer than 50% of the people in America from then and on will be white European stock," he said. “That’s not a bad thing, that’s a source of our strength. Said the dementia ridden child sniffer https://www.foxnews.com/politics/flashback-joe-biden-constant-unrelenting-immigration
That's not the same as importing millions of Sudanese , Pakistani , Somalian & Albanian "refugees " then allowing them to vote in our elections. A Jamaican National that legally moved here & holds indefinite residency can vote here.
Ipsos MORI estimates Labour won the votes of 64% of all Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) voters, while 20% voted for the Conservatives and 12% for the Lib Dems.21 Feb 2020 https://commonslibrary.parliament.u...ORI estimates Labour won,12% for the Lib Dems.
No, but BWood has proved that a lot of the time, you don't know what you're talking about. I didn't know it either if that helps. I think anyone who lives in a country, should be allowed a vote.
None of the millions of remain voters that moved to France after 2016 with indefinite residency will be allowed to vote in French elections, the same with Germany. You need to be a French National & show them I.D to vote.
There's a grey area with Commonwealth countries but you can't come here from Canada or Australia on a tourist visa & vote . You need indefinite residency which you need to qualify for it's a lengthy process & usually involves having British relatives here or marrying a British person. Sir Rodney wants to empty France if all it's refugees then get them voting Labour because most do if offered free NHS housing , education & money .
It’s not a grey area. People from some countries can vote here. People from other countries paying the same taxes having been here as long can’t.
Yes that's exactly what Sir Rodney is proposing. Non UK non British commonwealth immigrants voting in our elections would guarantee Labour will stay in power by importing more Labour voters in exchange for free stuff . Until the NHS & welfare system implodes , then we have a South Africa level society
If someone living here & paying tax here can give up their passport & become a British citizen then of course they should be allowed to vote. If they don't want to commit to being one of us & would rather have the option of returning home with their status in tact then they shouldn't be allowed to interfere in other people's elections. That's absurd
There’s nothing to suggest this will happen at all. Were you not crying about the projected number of migrants to come here under the Tories? Currently millions of foreign people who have a stake in society and pay their taxes don’t have a vote while millions of other foreign people do. Those are the facts. Again, there’s nothing to stop these newly enfranchised voters from voting for parties other than Labour. Maybe the Tories could consider offering something to people who aren’t middle-class boomers.
Irish and Commonwealth citizens already have this ‘luxury’ though. A luxury also afforded to Barry and Sheila who moved to Benidorm ten years ago.
