I really wonder if he wants to live and work on the South coast. Maybe his family enjoyed their time down there, whilst he was at Brighton. Happy wife, happy life. Lol
Whether we get Potter or someone else, the club should act without dithering. We need someone who can motivate our team and give some of them the kick up the arse they need. Another name I'd like to see in the mix is Ange Postecoglou as he has worked wonders at Celtic and was linked to Chelsea before Poch. I don't think it unreasonable that a high calibre manager would be interested in Saints as SR are in a unique position of selling not only the club but their multi-club football vision. If SR are able to promote this successfully and show how the manager can develop not only at Saints but at SR as well, then I think this would be quite an interesting proposition.
We should be a pretty attractive option to a lot of managers as we basically are going to be doing a full rebuild, with presumably a fair amount of money available to do it. From the rumours it sounds like Wilcox prefers a young upcoming manager rather than one of the bigger names, I don’t think that will go down too well with the fanbase
I don't mind us going down that route TBH, there are plenty of talented managers in the EFL. The Jones debacle shouldn't put us off from looking there.
yeah I’m not against it either, but can see a lot of the fan base not being happy with a non name. Like if we were to get Schumacher for example I can see a similar reaction to when Jones was appointed
Nothing wrong with getting a young manager, but we need to do the correct due diligence. ‘Nathan Jones won the Championship in my FM save’ isn’t adequate Rasmus, a simple 5 min human interaction would have shown he wasn’t fit for the job.
To be fair he did a good job at Derby considering they started the season on - 21 points. They were just 7 points from safety when the were Relegated.
We need a tough, hard bastard, young or not, that can reinstall a sense of pride in the badge, make some difficult decisions, trim the squad down and get the "team" part back in play.
I agree and I'm not saying I want Rooney just that he did a good job at Derby considering the points deduction.
Would be good if they had all those qualities and were loveable too. Unfortunately Poch has gone to Chelsea though!
I hear a spanish manager called Natan Jonesinho is high on the shortlist. One of the greatest in Europe, apparently and scoring high on the metrics.
