yeah it’s the do nothing part I’m not keen on. Somewhere with something to do or see that isn’t the usual tourist stuff. Thinking maybe Croatia or something?

I’ve been to split and it’s canny. Got mopeds and went round the island of Brac and say some historical stuff and drank beers

diocletians palace mate. Big Roman palace with shops and bars inside. Has a classy feel to the whole place. Some really old side and back streets too where you can have a wander. I’d go back again.
In fact in august when I go on my first cruise I’m off back there for a day then Dubrovnik too.

There's a shop in Naples, a shrine to Maradona. When I went in it was empty, with a life-size cut out of the cheating twat in the corner. I was about to punch it when the shop owner appeared...I might not have got out of Naples alive had I planted it one <laugh> Seriously though, it's a funny old city, rough and ready yet offers so much. Beautiful buildings in need of repair, if only the local mafia, the Camorra, wouldn't misappropriate funding set aside for public works. It will be hot, 38 when we were there, it got up to 31 overnight. If you get a taxi from the airport make sure you get an official car else you will be charged double by bogus cabbies who drive like loons. Oh, and marvel at the scooters and how whole families ride helmetless together on them, mother, daughter, son, and pet dog! Via Toledo is good for shopping and food, with alleyways branching off full of restaurants. Try the Hop On Bus, or visit Pompei thirty mins on the local train. Sorrento is further down the line, about an hour away, worth a visit. Barter with taxi drivers if you are out at night, ten euros will get you back to your digs. Avoid the main train station as much as possible, there is a big square opposite it with low life hanging around. In all, have a great time mate (and watch out for pickpockets).

Thinking about getting a refund after seeing this mate. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

No seriously though, cheers! Looking forward to it. Hopefully I’ll bring Omishen or however you spell it and bring him back with me. (I’ll pay for his flight so the lad needn’t worry)

Berlin is always great for a weekend break. Munich, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf good too.

Missus wants to move to Germany at some point, I'm kinda tempted tbh.

Is it much different over there to the UK? Never been. Always fancied going to Dortmunds ground and having a few days there.

Always get a much nicer vibe from German people than English...dunno whether that's from living in London too long where everyone's cold and reserved, but whenever I go to German I find the people more warm, honest and friendly. Just a very different vibe to UK.

In terms of the country, it's amazing, loads of interesting cities to visit, and the countryside is stunning there too.
