According Guilleme Balague(sp) we have approached De Zerbi I think we are looking for a manager who wants to elevate himself with us to that level we both need to get to as oppose to someone who is already at the top and may think he is ‘doing us a favour’ hence us ruling out Nagalesman not saying that is the main reason but it seems like the thinking is somewhere along them lines…we want the next Poch as we had our best period under such a personality
It has been said for a few weeks that we're looking to bring in a manager who wants to be here, rather than somebody who treats us like a fallback option Considering our track record of managers who do have that attitude, be it Conte slumming it waiting for Juve to come calling when in charge of us or van Gaal doing such a good job of talking himself out of the job that we went for Poch instead, that is a sound idea - it's just there are two obvious spanners in the works, as PSG look set to chop and change managers yet again, while Los Ladrones' sacking Ancelotti in slow motion is going to take priority for certain managers too
It sort of makes sense if he wants his own coaching staff with him the second he signs on the dotted line, because he's having to build one from scratch It does beg the question why so many of his former assistants are looking to break out on their own, though. Toppmoller wanting to become his own man makes sense, especially considering his father led Leverkusen to all those runner-up places in 2002, but the rest of his assistants? Either they're still under contract at Bayern and want to stay, or there's something that Bild aren't saying
Not getting Nagelsmann is annoying as I think he has a lot of potential to do well with us. But there are other good options out there, namely Slot. What’s more frustrating is the seemingly complete absence of a plan. Charitably, maybe the club are simply keeping things under wraps. But we all know it’s more likely we’re somewhat sitting in our hands. Not having someone taking a picture in front of the training ground within a week of the season ending, if not earlier, would be a big misstep considering how long they’ve had to work this out.
Romano is suggesting that "clarity over our DoF situation" sounds uncannily like "Give me a DoF I want to work with or I walk"
Feyenoord face Go Ahead Eagles tomorrow and take the title if they win. It's a 3.45pm kick-off, so I might give that a watch and see how they play.
I'd be fine with De Zerbi but what we really need is Brighton's entire scouting team and for ours to **** off permanently.
Can't see why he'd come to us tbf...we will either get Rodgers or Mason IMHO. Neither inspire me cos Mason is so raw and needs to learn a lot more and Rodgers is a grade A cockwomble Might hibernate through next season
Don’t want Mason he’s done nothing to make me suggest that there is anything remotely interesting or inspiring in his appointment He is not the man for us and if he’s appointed I look forward to witnessing the patience levels of the ‘Levy outer’s’.
Poch to the Chavs almost complete hope the ‘he’s magic you know’ guise are ready to get the piss ripped out of them from the chavs in next years fixtures
Really like what the guy has done at Brighton, but as you say, Brighton is far more than just the coach. Potter was great there, too. Then went to a basket case club and look what happened. We’ve got no direction, no structure, no plan. And the bloke’s had less than a season in the premier league. Good luck to him if he joins us, we’ll soon see how good he is without everything that’s in place at Brighton. I genuinely don’t know who we hire any more. I think they’re ****ed regardless to be honest.
