Sounds like a very grudging well done, we won, we dominated the second half, they scored from a pinball situation, as usual we scored 2 beautiful goals, cheer up!

 

He hates gelhardt so ignore him.

Gelhardts movement n hold up play was really good today. Needs to be more of a threat in the box but otherwise he was very good and worked his socks off

 

We also out fought them, some folk just like a wee moan mate

To be fair if you look at his stats he plays the most long balls per game of any outfield player and has the third best pass accuracy of anyone with any minutes under their belt, so it might be more true than you realise.

Thought he was fine today did the job, didn't make any mistakes on the ball. Was probably a bit stupid clattering that bloke with his arm.

 

That brings a lump to ones throat .

 

Yeah I thought his movement was great too, we couldn't often get it to him but he was making intelligent runs and making himself available for a cross.

 

I thought O'Nien was good today. We concede one goal against that Luton side with two of the most physical strikers in the league and its clear he's done a pretty good job.

I know it all about opinions but I agree that Gelhardt was poor today. He worked hard for sure. But this is about getting into the Premier League. "Worked hard" isn't enough for me. He still doesn't look like he fits or knows his role in this set up. Which is fair enough. but the other young players are adapting better to the uncertainty than he is.

I have no doubt he'll be better in the second leg though.

I hope our away form is maintained down there, same for both sides but they have a much bigger squad than us at present, in both senses of the word. Tonys reluctance to bring players off unless they have to be almost carried off still puzzles me. Today the game was there for the taking after 60 minutes but we let them off the hook I hope we don't regret it in three days time. OaU
