...we could also get the legend that is Alan Fettis as goalkeeping coach and possibly René Meulensteen as his assistant, both currently working with Joyce in the reserves at man utd.
Meulensteen is widely regarded as the best reserve team coach man utd have had having brought on the careers of Johnny Evans, Darren Gibson, Frazier Campbell, Ben Foster, Chris Eagles, Kieran Richardson and a certain P.McShane. He is currently a first team coach in charge of Technical Skills development at Old Trafford.
Fettis is the current reserve team goalkeeping coach at Old Trafford having had spells coaching with Sunderland and Derby.

As much as I love Deano, he's my all time favorite City player, I think he'd be about as good at managing or coaching as Shearer was. In our hearts it probably seems a good idea, but realistically, it'd be a disaster.

Coaching and managing require discipline and maturity, not his strongest points.

I cant see Joyce turning up with the whole Man U reserves staff unless Man U already had a full set of replacements.

If we can entice WJ away from Old Traff, I doubt SAF would say yes to losing his whole coaching staff!

i cant see Joyce wanting to make the move myself .
Im pretty sure he is the wrong candidate for the wrong reasons too.
Most people seem to want Joyce for some quite bizarre reasons .

"he will provide good contacts at Man Utd"
    "he knows the kids here"

Sadly his managerial qualities are completely overlooked.
there is a different kind of pressure when comparing the quite pointless Man utd reserves to the Playoffs in the Championship
This is in now way meant to come across as disrespectful to the feller that helped orchestrate the great escape season

does anyone think this potentially could get SAF's back up? manyoo loan us the sell us a bunch of their promising youngsters (buybacks in place no doubt) and then we tempt WJ away and disrupt what I'm sure is the best organised youth/reserves set up in English football.

Brady won't get extended and there might be others who pass us by. All I'm saying is that WJ is handy to have at manyoo as our recent arrivals prove.

Stewart, Dudge, Evans, Chester and Brady, WJ was I'm sure a big influence on their arrival.

Could see Macheda following him too, as SAF has said he can go out on loan to the championship to get used to the English game

Well said Madhog. Deano is a legend as a player but I cannot see him being a manager we all want who will take us to the Premiership. He is totally inexperience and could take the club into the relegation zone in double quick time.

Really don't know, but in the past when coaches etc have left for good reasons, he always seems to say good luck to them. So there is the possibility it would not cause friction. There is another coach there for the reserves (can't remember his name, sounds Dutch) who is pulling up trees by all accounts, so it wouldn't rock the boat.

I don't see how he'd work here as a coach though, even when we were doing well in the PL he thought he knew better than Brown how to pick the team and was very public about how he thought he should be playing. Having him as a coach here would make him centre of attention because of his reputation and undermine the manager. He needs to go elsewhere first (and not Bradford either) to show he can coach/manage and then only come back here when he's ready to be the manager if that day arrives.

Clearly there is risk taking on Joycey because of his knowledge of players and standard of the NPC.

That said he has always claimed to having unfinished business here and to me seems the best candidate other than perhaps OGS.
