Yep, just imagine if we’d had Oriol & Jose overseeing the youngsters (and not necessarily on the pitch).
Quite a big piece in The Times today about how our arrogance has cost us in turfing out all the experienced players and the problems that have been existing in the dressing room as a result, with a lot of cliques etc. Plus how we screwed up by having discussions about bringing in De Zerbi in the summer, but deciding that sacking our coaching staff was the far better option... Interesting that despite what you might read on here, Selles win percentage, though still bad, is better than Jones was, and they both have a better win percentage than Hughes. Low bar, granted.
Don't know if you can see it as may be behind paywall, but is here - https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...-policy-led-to-southampton-disaster-znvt99v57
On a positive note we have 13 more points than Derby County when they were Relegated in the 07/08 season. Of the teams that finished bottom of the Premiership. Sunderland finished 02/03 season on 19pts and the 05/06 season on 15pts. Huddersfield finished the 18/19 season on 16 pts and Aston Villa finished the 15/16 season on 17 pts. Portsmouth finished the 09/10 season on 19 pts but that was due to a 9 pts deduction. The 28 pts they would've had would've seen them relegated anyway.
Is it weird to be kind of relieved that we are finally relegated and wishing we had been relegated sooner?
