Jurgen reiterating his stance that LFC is still an attractive option without CL football. He wants players who want to play for the club and make their own history and help push for trophies and CL football and not just jump on the ride that's already going there (paraphrasing). He said it's a great club and a great team and the team will be even better next season.

Sounds like he may already have a few players in the bag. Possibly. Maybe.

Several articles on MacAl seem to have suggested that he is a done deal. There's possibly a few others that will all sign shortly after the window opens. Klopp likes to get them early in the season so he can give them summer hugs.

    Ah yes
Clearly the words of a madman who has lost all his senses <laugh>

sorry there was a few - quite a few on the Prem board who think Jurgen has lost his marbles

Tbf there have been a few on here who seem to think he isn’t doing enough

personally I think this build is the bit he loves

I think it’s a shame that other squad didn’t win more

I love the fact that JK is trying different things
I am hoping that whatever he comes up with this time brings him more success than the previous squad he built

the fact that he has to build again tells us everything we need to know. We’ve grossly underinvested in the team/squad. We should transition from one team to another smoothly; at least that’s what other great teams (with great money tbf) do….

With recruitment policy, we were always going to have to rebuild at some point. It'll be the same again within a year or two with us having an aging defence and keeper.

There are very few opposition fans who talk sense so I tend to take no notice of most opposition fans :)

I agree that this team should have won more and we all know why it hasn't. This 'temporary' sporting director should have a positive impact. I think Klopp saying the team will be better, hints at more than 1 or 2 new additions.

I 100% believe the catastrophe of this season could have been avoided. I also think Klopp took way too long to try to adapt and kept trying the same failing tactic over and over again.

Had we been smarter in transfer decisions (don't know who to blame that on) we could have won the league this season. This has been another season like the one Leicester won, where none of the big guys looked like they really want to win it.

All that said, I still believe Klopp is definitely the best man for the job of managing Liverpool and wouldn't want to swap him for anyone else. I believe we're finally going to react and improve again.

Win another Premier League title... Maybe not, we've not got the financial muscle and Klopp already played his magic bullet to make us look well above our pay grade. I think teams are better at combatting his strategies now... But in a year or.l two we'll be hassling City at the top again and making life difficult for them.

I certainly didn't want Klopp to get fired ... But to be honest, I didn't think he would survive the season and was quite worried who might replace him as noone else looked good enough. Thankfully, FSG looked more.patient and wise than most over team owners and knew this was a blip and stuck with him... Something which is paying off now we're nearing seasons end.

I think we had all our eggs in the Tchouameni basket with no backup plan. In fairness nobody could have foreseen the magnitude of Fabinho's drop off in form and the amount of other injuries. Thank goodness there does seem to be a plan for the eggs in the Bellingham basket.

I can't say that I was ever worried about Klopp losing his job.

Or there has been a discussion with the gaffa and he has said all is fine
Then had a plethora of injuries to deal with due to fatigue from last seasons efforts coupled with a highly irregular season that we weren’t ready for ?

The rest period last summer was particularly short and we had a very long season
I am certain that has contributed to our form this season more than anything and was my main reason for going 5th on the predictor. I am certain we will be stronger next season
Sadly so will City Chelsea probs Spurs and Utd
Think Arsenal will have a good season but not as good as this in the league

Anything said about LFC or its players on the prem board is pure bullshit, jealousy and fear.

You literally cannot have a serious conversation with anyone there about lfc. The hatred and jealousy runs deep<laugh>

Full credit to FSG, but if we had been United, or Chelsea, or Tottenham, they would have kicked him out in October. Managers have such a short lifespan these days at most clubs. Most owners seem to think a bad patch overrides everything else a manager has achieved.

    True.

I'm trying to prepare myself for the day Klopp leaves. Imo it will be at the end of his contract. When he does leave, I can't think of any manager coming in who would excite me. Ljinders would be the seamless move. Whether he's got what it takes is a different argument.

But the release clause wasn't valid for another year, so we couldn't just pay it as there was no deal. The best we could have done was to pay even more to have him that summer, but Leipzig wanted him for another season. Or wait til the season after to pay the clause, but then be in competition with anyone else who wanted to pay it. Not saying I agree with it, but I can understand the logic if we really wanted him.

1st July tends to be the start and end date of footballing contracts

But in terms of being part of a future team, those two left about 8 months ago.
