Sunderland AFC and the Spirit of ’37 are working side-by-side ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship Play-Off semi-final to create another iconic atmosphere at the Stadium of Light. Following a stunning collaboration for the last season’s League One Play-Off fixture, a cauldron of noise is once again set to greet the Lads when they exit the tunnel against Luton Town. The Club has designed and is set to unveil a special edition #TilTheEnd surfer in the East Stand, with SO37’s renowned flag display set to create a sea of red and white in the Roker End and beyond. Unfortunately, it was not possible to recreate the unforgettable TIFO display used last season versus Sheffield Wednesday due to a significant rise in the number of occasions the Club has been on report to the FA this season. This is predominantly due to a very small minority of home fans throwing missiles – for clarity, FA guidelines deem any item thrown towards the playing surface as a missile, including card and paper – and further instances of this will likely result in the Club facing sanctions. SO37 therefore understood the decision earlier in the campaign to prioritise flag displays in the hope that they would continue to build a long-term resonance amongst the fan base and become a core part of all future matchdays. We are also encouraging fans to act responsibly at the Stadium of Light and Kenilworth Road to demonstrate to fans around the world the class and passion for which our supporters are renowned. Fans are also advised to arrive inside the stadium by 17:10, with a sell-out crowd expected to result in understandable queues at the turnstiles and congestion within the concourses. SO37 continue to rely on the support of their fellow fans when setting up displays at the Stadium of Light and you can play your part this weekend – simply follow @thespiritof37 on Twitter for more details.
Such a shame we can’t do a similar display as Sheff Wed thanks to a handful of arseholes, every club has them unfortunately.
Fair enough, but he's not the only one. Clearly they need to sort this and many other off field matters out. I had quite a chew myself, and only managed after logging on multiple times.
aye this will sell out today for certain not 2 together left anywhere in stadium according to hettonlass over the road
That had to have been the most stressful 15 minutes of my life. Sitting nice and chilled in the online queue on the computer at work. 5 minutes to go and the boss tells me he wants me over to our other branch! Lucky I had my phone open as well in case of any issues!! So now I’m in the queue on my phone when I finally got through. What a pain trying to select 2 seats together on a iPhone! Then it didn’t accept my credit card details so emptied my shopping basket!!!!! got back in but could only get 2 tickets right at the end of the PC. Got them but what a carry on!!
i had to delete and readd my credit card on Tuesday when i got my ticket so your not the only one that had that problem glad you got sorted
I thought with kick off time and sky tv we might have struggled to get past 40K, but looking how quick they are being sold online this morning it looks like it will almost certainly be a sell out.
How stressful! didn't realise queue opened early and was 6500 in the queue at 11:55, got in, seats disappearing as I tried to book them, telling me to refresh my browser, which sounded a terrible idea so ignored, then had 3 seats in basket and gave me a different 3 in a different block with 2 seats between them when I finally got the tickets! Thank you robot for fixing me up with the other seats and not just saying error no can do again haha! So pleased to be sorted this will be sold out by now I bet, crazy busy, so stressful! So pleased as dad is old now and reluctant to do much but agreed this morning to come with me and son, never know how many opportunities left
