I posted the original version of this thread a short while ago and things have got worse, if anything. The board virtually ran itself until recently, so I'm rather confused at the uptick in hostility. When people are clearly getting upset and it's not a nice place to be, we have to take action. The latest round of clashes has lead to Spurf, SpursDisciple and I asking for a suspension for King. He'll be absent from the board for a month as a result. He's asked for us to let you know this. I suspect that we're missing something here and we'd appreciate it if you'd let us know what it is. Are we doing something wrong? Would you like anything to change? Are we failing to act in a consistent manner? Things are not going well with the team and I think that's a factor. It can't be everything though, surely?

As far as I am concerned you are all doing fine. The mood around the support is low and we as fans are all at something of a low ebb, but in the main the debate here remains strong and fair and I like to think that in the main we maintain a sense of humour here that shows a strong bond. I have never taken offence to anything that has been posted and don't think we generally have a problem here, we can't all agree with everything that is posted by every poster, but that makes for good debate and vibrant forum which I think that this remains. Keep up the good work.

In all seriousness though, I’m not too sure what King has been banned for. I noticed a little ‘spat’ between him and Vim a couple days ago, if that, I think a ban may have been harsh, if for something else then just tell me to shut the **** up.
I agree with @Dier Hard that the suspension is harsh. I don't think King really understood that his post might be offensive. I find the board to be fine with nothing much to fix.
Driving another poster to the point of not wanting to be here is no small matter. Plus there were other matters that we had discussed with King. As moderators we had to make a decision and this we did together. This thread is not really about discussing King and the action we took it's about all of you and your opinion of the board the moderation and whether as PNP asks we should change anything.
I like the board...have said it before that it's like a friendly online pub made up of different characters. Lots of us have shared the stories of personal loss, days gone by, family stories, political views, jokes and views about football and all things spurs and keep coming back for more cos by and large it is a respectful and friendly place. I think a couple of posters have irritated each other and imo has led to some tedious point scoring posts. There's a touch of the posts from DCG (I think that's what those 2 posters were called) in some of what's been posted recently. For what it's worth I think the mods do a good job on here and can't see what more they can do. Even when I was very ill recently I came on to read posts as it is a funny and comfortable place to be online. Most on here debate respectfully and unlike a lot of boards we get posters from other clubs as regular visitors. @Spurf ... the cheque is in the post yeah?
Nothing wrong here with the mods. Rest easy! You all do a sterling job and it’s a difficult task in management in all walks of life with having to manage the different personalities. Some folks require extra management and some can be left alone. I for one, trust you to continue doing what you have been doing. Thanks for your work here mods. Even when you talk gibberish!
As the resident outlaw/interloper, I’ll offer a view There is little, if anything, to moderate. There will always be a difference of opinion on certain issues, but the conversation is usually reasonable, respectful and humour often prevails over anger or irritation. The board is a community where everybody knows each other (as far as it ever can be through the internet alone). That in itself acts as a form of regulation because it’s clear what is and isn’t acceptable. In recent years, the conversation has widened to music, politics and other sports because posters are happy to interact on subjects away from Spurs (and football generally). That’s because people feel like they know each other. The demographic of the board is broadly posters aged 45-65, intelligent, thoughtful but passionate about the same things - and that helps. Long may that continue. On the other hand, I’m talking b*locks as usual and you’re a bunch of idiotic, deluded €%#>%s
