The Blues are believed to be in the hunt for the Shrewsbury man, with his future with Steve Cotterill’s side uncertain. The 28-year-old has been offered a one-year extension on his current deal at the Montgomery Waters Meadow, which is set to come to an end at the end of next month. Pennington registered 42 appearances in all competitions during the recent campaign, helping the Shropshire side to a 12th-placed finish in League One. And the defender has a goal threat, too, as he netted six goals during those games. The ex-Everton academy graduate has spent two-and-a-half years with Salop over two spells - totalling 113 outings. With his future uncertain, a move away appears likely according to the Shropshire Star, who have claimed a host of Championship and League One clubs are chasing Pennington this summer. Now, multiple reports have now tipped him with a move to Fratton Park in the upcoming window.

It was reported on Sunday that the Blues were monitoring the versatile winger ahead of a potential swoop in the transfer window. Championship outfit Cardiff are also believed to be in the hunt for the 25-year-old as they prepare to battle John Mousinho for his signature. Nemane is out of contract at Notts County following the season’s conclusion but has been offered fresh terms as the newly-promoted side prepare for life in League Two. The winger has spent two years at Meadow Lane - amassing 62 appearances in all competitions, while totalling five goals and registering eight assists. The Frenchman came through the academy ranks at Manchester City, but failed to make a first-team outing during his time at the Etihad Stadium. He would spend spells on loan with Glasgow Rangers, Dutch outfit Go Ahead Eagles and Belgian side Tubize, before departing the Citizens in 2019. He can also play right wing back.
Portsmouth have joined Wycombe Wanderers and Bolton Wanderers in the race to sign AFC Wimbledon's South African born 5' 10" attacking midfielder Ethan Chislett this summer, according to Pete O’Rourke from Football Insider. The 24-year-old played a key role for the League Two side last season, helping to keep the club out of a potential relegation scrap, but it now appears as though his future could lie away from the football club. Formerly with Aldershot, last season, Chislett made 44 league appearances for the club, scoring nine goals and assisting a further three. He also featured in seven cup appearances last season, scoring twice for the club. He is out of contract, and available on a free transfer.
Portsmouth women have officially come under the tornate banner and will become semi-pro, players will actually get paid rather than paying to play. So that's pretty good
Pompey are among a host of clubs in England and Scotland hoping to sign 23 year old, 6'2" tall left back Ali Koiki who is available on a free transfer from Northampton Town. With Denver Hume up for sale, he could provide decent competition for Conor Ogilvie. He was born in London to Nigerian parents, and was originally in Crystal Palace's academy.
Pompey have also been linked with 26 year old Portugese born goalscoring winger Ruben Rodrigues, who is 5' 11" tall, and who has scored 50 goals in 123 matches for Notts County, since being signed from Dutch club Den Bosch in 2020. Last season he netted 18 goals helping Notts County secure promotion to League 2. Again, available on a free transfer.
It appears there could be problems in resigning ex-loanee Goalkeeper Matt Macey permanently from Luton Town, following them being promoted to the Premier League, so Pompey are well into negotiations with 29 year old keeper Will Norris, with the 6' 5" player having been released by Burnley, and now available on a free transfer. He spent the end of last season on loan to Peterborough United, making 24 appearances, including 11 clean sheets.
Ruben Rodrigues has signed a contract with Oxford Utd, so we have missed out on him as a possible signing.

Three more possible Pompey targets:- (1) PFC have submitted a bid for 24 year old, 6' 2" tall Aussie striker Kusini Yengi from Western Sydney Wanderers. Apparently, 3 other clubs have also tabled offers - unnamed clubs in the UK/France/Austria. His younger brother Tete Yengi already plays in the UK with Ipswich Town. Kusini scored 4 goals + 2 assists in 18 matches last season. (2) 21 year old, 6' striker Christian Saydee currently with Bournemouth. He was a Pompey triallist last Summer, but ended up on loan to Shrewsbury last season, scoring 7 goals in 21 matches. (3) 26 year old, 6' 3" central defender Conor Shaughnessy of Burton Albion, who is available on a free transfer. Born in Ireland, he can play either as a right sided centre half, or central midfield. He is a former Leeds youngster.
Pompey have completed the free transfer signing of Burnley keeper Will Norris on a three year contract - first signing of the transfer window completed !!
Pompey have sold 25 year old winger Reeco Hackett to Lincoln City on a three year contract, for an undisclosed fee.
Blimey, it's like buses !! Pompey have signed 26 year old 6' 3" centre back Conor Shaughnessy on a free transfer from Burton Albion, on a two year contract, with an option for a third year.
Rumours are suggesting both Coventry and Swansea are interested in signing 22 year old Pompey right back Zak Swanson, who was signed from Arsenal in the Summer transfer window last year. We paid an undisclosed fee for the defender, and he looked a really talented player when he came into the side for the injured Joe Rafferty last season. I hope we can keep him at Fratton Park, but it will very much depend on the size of any transfer fee being offered.
Signing number three has entered the building !! 21 year old striker Christian Saydee has signed a three year contract for an undisclosed fee from Premier League Bournemouth. So, that's three arrivals, and one departure on the opening day of the transfer window. That is some going ! All thanks to Rich Hughes, Phil Boardman and John Mousinho for 'doing the business'.
