I take it you don’t support any football club - you don't want it to win games - and don't feel irritated when it loses, is disrespected by other fans/pundits or falls victim of a bad refereeing or EFL decision?
Of course not. It’s ‘tribal’ and uncivilised - just like feeling a pride and belonging to a nation.
You clearly don’t have any affiliation to your family either - after all, it’s only random that you (and they) are part of it.
What an utterly weird point of view.

Just to clarify, booing a national anthem or stealing and burning a flag is NOT an act of indifference, it’s an act of hatred against your own.
Indifference would be to ignore - not sing the anthem or walk by the flag.
Those people - particularly the flag burners - felt angry enough to take their action, driven by some kind of hatred.
Having a affiliation to your country, flag or anthem does NOT mean you blindly agree with everything that your nation has ever done. There have been plenty of things my country has done, both within my lifetime and before I was born, that I find abhorrent - and I'm very vocal about them too, but it's still my flag, my country and my anthem.
Worrying times indeed - and worrying that there are so many around who actually sympathise with those self-hatred actions.

Wait until the next election result, and we'll be facing waves of people with the same hatred for their own country. And there's plenty around already, especially within the Labour party who'd love to see us go down on one knee, and pay trillions of pounds to places like Jamaica, Antigua, Nevis, St Kitts and all the other places that think we owe them something.
We don't owe them anything, and if they want to start the nonsense, they will soon discover that we're all owed money and reparations for things we had no control over.

If someone ripped down and burned a rainbow flag, there would be outrage - and rightly so.
When it’s our union flag however it’s fair game to some people. Home-grown people that were brought up and nurtured here but have turned against their country, being wilfully afflicted by some kind of national self-harming compulsion akin on a national scale to attacking your own house or community.

This was about Liverpool fans being called a disgrace for not singing or booing the anthem.

Maybe look up a bit of history as to why that may be. Not just Hillsborough either it goes way back to Churchill sending tanks into liverpool.

As expected though this has gone all burning flags, if you dont like it leave, and national front very quickly cos like i said thats really all nationalism is and leads to.

You just crowned a man whos had his arse wiped his whole life, inherited Billions, never paid a penny tax, and made you pay 280m for his big day too. All while the country is on its knees.

    But respect the anthem <laugh>

    <doh>

They booed a song, mate. It’s a **** song anyway. At least have them boo Land of Hope and Glory.

Some people don’t particularly like what the country has become and it’s ok because we can live together harmoniously.

Everton fans sang an Everton song rather than booing.

Not sure where this sits on the scale of outrage and whether they should emigrate as a result.

Being proud of the right things is healthy. Britain has many things to be proud of. Many scientific and cultural achievements, etc. Many many things to be proud of.

Personally, I don't think having a monarch or royal family is one of the things to be proud of... Especially not one that has Charles and Andrew as members.

A certain amount of pride in ones home is healthy, but it shouldn't come without question and against better moral judgement.

That said, I'm anti-monarchy, and I'm a Liverpool fan, but Im not pro booing the anthem even if I agree with the sentiment: Why pee in someone else's tea?

It's distasteful to boo a song that means something to someone else, but c'mon by the grand scheme of things it's hardly the most distasteful thing you'll hear at the average match. Plenty of chants are far worse. Thicken the skin and move on.

Singing about rent boys - FA fines
Not singing/booing the anthem - gammon rage
Singing about dead football fans - no worries.

Yeah god save the scrounging king and his **** brother.

    Or something like that

I enjoyed the Celtic rendition of “Maggie’s in a box”. Hopefully our South-West brothers can align with us on that one.

I’d have liked a bit more hatred but it’s a solid start, thank you.

I don't, but as millions do I think that is worthy of respect.

    That’s dark.

Not saying I’m totally against it and I’m keen to see what Sucky comes back with.

I agree. Board would be boring without it.

I've got plenty of ammo when it comes to Liverpool.
