I’m afraid the secret is out and will get even further out if we make the playoff final. I can’t see how he’s still here next season unless we win the playoffs. we could genuinely be looking at £25m+ bids if we play it properly. Even then he could be worth lots more in a couple of years but it would be flippin ballsy to be turning down £25m in the championship that third goal yesterday, he scores that in every division, even the champions league. He has a directness and a coolness that you can’t coach and is translated to any standard of football (for a team that counters)
I'm obviously not ITK or anything so only read into this what my imagination is telling me rather than any insight. But imagine if Neil, Michut and Ekwah had an experienced head who knew the Premier League well to help them navigate it, both on the pitch but also off it and as people as well. Corry Evans is a fantastic captain and can be that guy in the championship. I just wish we had an option in the premier league. Somebody who has captained teams to the title, to the champions league and also captained his country. Ideally also a Sunderland lad and perhaps looking for a move. Any ideas?
My biggest worry is if one or two players get sold off and it brings down the togetherness of the group overall, then you begin to wonder if there could be a flaw in the system.
Nothing lasts forever. Just have to trust those in control are considering all elements. And I'm confident they are.
Well I can't add much to what has been said but I have to say wow just wow. Loved the entire day from first thing to late last night. Spending the day with family, friends and 6k fellow Sunderland supporters. The nerves the tension the drama the noise all unfurling during the game amazing. The noise when Blackburn scored the 4th and the realisation and joy that we were going into the play offs absolutely awesome. These players never cease to amaze me terrific performance from them all. Hats off to Mowbray also. An absolutely terrific day out which left me drained physically and emotionally. On we go to Luton . Brilliant season whatever happens. To the end. Keep the faith lads and lasses.
Got in last night and Mrs Smug was expecting me to absolutely buzzing ... ... I felt like I'd walked to Preston and back
Like a Sunderland born lad with bags of experience, a PL and CL winner who is looking to finish his career at his boyhood club?
I don't think it's too outrageous to actually come off tbh. They booed him for singing the national anthem at the weekend and we sung it loud and proud yesterday. I reckon he will be back this summer. Wait till he is spotted in the crowd at Wembley trying to be incognito
An ex-work colleague sent me a message yesterday, he was at the Preston game in the home end and was very impressed with the way we played in the second half and thought our support was fantastic. He also couldn't believe the atmosphere they made when the other scores were filtering through. We all know how great the support is but I thought I would share an outsider's view
