I don’t blame him for the style of play. Everyone knew what we were getting with Ainsworth and we were in a desperate spot that by some minor miracle and with a lot of luck got out of.

But Les (and Hoos) sets the strategy of the club. Our signings have generally been poor, there’s been minimal progression if any on or off the pitch as far as I can tell. We seem to sell off our best assets for far less than other clubs and the only way we can survive is to churn out good players every year to sell on for a profit.

It’s a difficult job but he appears to be doing it badly.

Had lunch today with a good mate who came to the play off with me. He had a big birthday recently, his wife shelled out bucketloads to get him a day at LR and his experience was awful. It was the the PNE game and result aside, the match day experience was terrible.
He wrote to Lee Hoos,,hasn’t heard a thing. There were kids there who were meant to get kits who didn’t and it seems like there was no plan to get everyone on side.

It’s a results business - nothing personal to SLF, I’m sure he’s a lovely bloke but we are going one way while he’s in his role.

About a year ago I matched with an older lady on Hinge who he briefly dated and was very complimentary about him. Not sure if she was a football fan.

My blast at SLF and the entire playing squad yesterday was immediately after the game and I was shooting from the hip. But I woke up this morning even more convinced that things are seriously wrong at the club from top to bottom. How else can you explain the pure lack of appreciation of the situation yesterday: a full house bank holiday crowd full of families - i.e. the future of QPR, nothing at stake in the game itself, a truly awful season to try and put behind us, and season ticket ads on the big screen at half time. On the pitch: no sign of attacking ambition or attractive football, no youngsters being bloodied for the future, and brainless tactics and pointless substitutions. The manager and every single player should hang their heads in shame (and that includes Teflon Sam Field who played more minutes than anyone else in this awful season and yet is somehow excluded from any blame by his fan club) but it is those on the back room side of whom the big questions have to be asked and who must surely see the commercial implications of not putting on any kind of show or giving hope for the future yesterday. Of course I'll renew - been doing it for 60 years so can't escape now - but the same can't be said for the young families heading glumly for the exits yesterday.

Exactly, everything up in the air, we could certainly do with a ball player who looks up and tries to find a team mate with a ball along the ground.

Completely agree with all of that except your continued criticism of Sam Field.
I reckon you're completely on your own in not rating him. Everyone around me yesterday agreed he was our player of the season and he got a standing ovation when he was substituted.
Why can't you see what he contributes?
Is it because he does the dirty work that isn't immediately noticeable in the way a really skillful player is noticed?
    I'm genuinely baffled.

Willock, Johansen and Lowe were brought on and immediately tried to do just that.
Unfortunately Ainsworth doesn't look interested in playing that way.
I understand doing whatever is necessary to avoid relegation and Ainsworth did that, but yesterday, in front of a full house, he still played 4-4-2 with Chair on the wing.
I don't hold out much hope that he'll change this next season, but we'll just have to wait and see.

This QPR team is without doubt the worse side that I have seen in my 58 years of watching the R's, yesterday they were an absolute disgrace.
Martin, Uncle Albert, Dozell, can all be let go in my opinion

I’m sure I read Adomah has the option of an extra year. I agree with you. Dozzell is dreadful anyway but he’s not an Ainsworth player at all.

He’ll probably be injured by October but Amos could be a big player for us next season. He’s crap but he puts it about which is all you need to do with our tactics.

Amos seems a nice enough bloke and is OK as a squad player when fit........but he is never fit.

If Ainsworth does as he says, which is going into next season with a much smaller squad, then we will need sturdy, fit and tenacious players.

We won't have room for any players like Amos that can only manage 14 games a season.

Well yeah he’s not a footballer but that doesn’t hold back Ainsworth teams.

I don't think I've ever said I don't rate him and completely agree with the player of the season rating (for whatever it's worth in such a dire squad). I just don't think it's right that an individual player who has been ever-present in a team serving up the worst QPR football in living memory and the direst run of home results EVER should be free of criticism. It's noticeable that even the smallest criticism of him in amongst a much larger set of observations is the thing people latch on to as though some sacred cow is being slaughtered. Despite a lot of 'dirty work' (I guess that's all the running around) his tackling and pass completion stats are ordinary even among a team that can't tackle or pass. His one stat that stands out is the most yellow cards of any player so I guess that concurs with the view of lots of effort but little product. Yes, when compared to Dozzell and Johansen he's been a giant but in the land of the blind the one-eyed man is king. Enjoy your summer everyone.

This is the key thing. Field is a decent player but no more. He gets into most teams in this league but isn’t the star in even a mid-table team. I hope he doesn’t get sold but I expect a better Championship team will want him. The likes of Watford can and do do a lot worse.

No, the 'dirty work' isn't "all the running around".
You said he was overrated and you wouldn't want him next season.
    We'll agree to differ.

Amos is a good footballer, it's just that his injury probems are always going to be against.
I do like Uncle Albert but on reputedly £8000 a week can we really afford that layout together with again reputedly Dozell £13.0000 a week.

    £13 a week isn’t a bad deal. £15 I’d have an issue with him.
