hopefully we will look more energetic and will have less issues with players fitness.

I thought jota was our most dangerous player v Brentford at times. he has played into fitness/sharpness so is crucial imo to this run.

trent is now a midfielder. klopp need to stop the pretence and just go sort it. I do think he need to move more and knowing he is not leaving a massive gap will enable that imo.

it's fairly clear the side is going to be built round gakpo at false 9, trent at 6 and konate at cb finally the best keeper we ever had in alisson. filling in round that will determine how we go.

salah, vvd, Henderson are all on borrowed time but can deliver in the period of a season next year.

there's a big rebuild job though to look like we can stand near man city or real or whoever else.

I am not so sure he should sort it
Him drifting in and out is causing confusion
May need to work on the system more but that could be really interesting imho

    We cannot leave the gaps

Sides given time will figure out better ways to destroy it.

We have a few good reasons why it's working but only one side (forest) stood a man on him and we were really struggling.

We will need to adapt this and stop borrowing from one area to feed another area with bodies.

It's simply not a back 3 so whatever needs to be done to refine and come to the right way we need to see 99% of squad is 433 not 3223 or 343 or 325 or whoever else it looks like.

Imo if we were really serious here we'd have at least put gomez on at rcb for robbo or something as he is far more suited to a wide right spot

I agree but there may be an option to continue this and fill the gaps by persisting with the system

I defo trust Klopp more than I trust myself lmao

The city system doesn't really work this way so who knows how it will work.

the game is really not this complicated

we are borrowing a player from one place to make up for deficiencies elsewhere. it's that simple.

if we fix the actual issue then the fix is no longer needed.

if that means trent is perma 6 then fine whatever.

the issue for me is we are pushing two cms right up the park (who are not actually very good up there as Jones won't pass the ball when it's there to pass and Henderson is henderson) to supplement the forwards to create an ability to press. 4 players used to do the job easy

5 to do the press of 4.

So instead we should go back to 433 with Salah gakpo and diaz not being able to press but still trying and Fabinho and henderson unable to run anywhere so getting walked past in the middle of the pitch. Cos that worked brilliantly for most of this season.

not what i really said but I acknowledge I mentioned 433 is what klopp has been buying for most of the time.

the issue is you've ignored the fact we have a major transfer window to fixed the issues and that's what I just said go fix the real issues now.

if one part of that is trent stood where he can affect the game as a midfielder than start him as a midfielder.

343 only works as a genuine narrow 3 with wing backs

city are playing a formation without full backs. stones and are are not full backs. stones is standing in narrow but city are close enough together to cover each other so it is a narrow set up

we are not doing this, there's miles between the players so any error anywhere is ammassive issue for us.

you must have depth of defence. its that simple.

Bit we’ve got 3 games before the window and we’re on best run of the season so nothing will be changing any time soon.

Like I’ve said numerous times. This formation isn’t to just get TAA into midfield. Otherwise he’d just play there. The idea is to get 4 midfielders in middle as a box. That creates an overload against a midfield 3 so we can play through the middle a bit more with added benefit of getting TAA into those central positions 40-50 yards from goal.

Also gives us cover in defence where it doesn’t allow teams t walk through the middle against us as we have 4 there. Instead it forces opposition to go out wide into the space at RB. Now although not ideal, far better for them to play long balls into the rb slot and compete for them and then have to work a shooting position from there. Than 2 simple accurate passes out from defence into midfield and suddenly they’re running at our cb in centre of the pitch because fab has been left on his own

I can not believe we've had the best run we've had all season and your still ****ing moaning.

Sweet jesus, just admit the change is a benefit, or actually just shut up about it. Either would be preferable to this diatribe.

And like I said, that doesn’t solve the issue as you end up with 3 in midfield not the 4 that klopp wants. It also means TAA is easier to man mark in a midfiekd 3 so won’t get as much space. Also means he’ll be receiving the ball with his back to goal rather than coming forward with the ball…

    Yep :) ^ this
I think it only has gaps in theory when we are attacking

I think it’s been created to play to some of Trent’s strengths too to get him involved in the attack from a central position

    it will cause chaos
Like when RBS and LBS swop sides or RW and LW swop and cut inside

because it’s not happening all through the game one of our most creative players gets a chance to not be marked for a few moments

playing a very high line is very risky but Klopp has already used a risk reward system with that

I am certain he will be aware of everything you are saying MITO
But I believe he believes that we will gain more from this.

two things have happened while we are on the this run

    1. Jones is back in midfield
    2. Klopp has adapted the system

I know which one I believe is causing the improved form

we may just have got lucky but I am sure it will take a while before we alter this :)
