As mentioned earlier on a different thread ... Leicester getting smashed could have one of two consequences. 1) they feel defeated and have lost the game before the match kicks off. 2) they try extra hard to not get smashed again. Given as Leicester haven't exactly proven themselves as a mentally strong team this year, option 1 IS more likely. We still have to play Aston Villa yet though, and they're higher up on the table than anyone you have left. We've got equally hard/easy end to the season. The difference of course is we're in good form and United have started to slump... But you still have the points advantage.
If Forest win tonight (just gone 4-2 so looking likely), Leicester drop into the bottom 3. You'd think they would then play out of their skin to get out of the drop next game. Problem is, the way they're playing, even if they wanted to they look absolutely shocking.
Could also say that once saints are confirmed down they will relax and all the nervousness and pressure currently playing with will be gone so may become a more difficult team. Never know especially in this league. on other hand united play wolves (13th) Bournemouth (14th) chelsea (11th) Fulham (10th) 4 teams who essentially have nothing to play for anymore. 3 of which are at home. Think if you could hand pick 4 clubs to play in last 4 games those would be it tbh
So Saints would also have nothing to play for Agree though it can be spun either way. At the end of the day, fck the opposition if we're good enough we manage it, and if we don't you will.
To be fair neither might be good enough. We might both lose a couple of games and you get 4th by default - in the sense that both almost thrown it away in last weeks lol
