I’m prepared to cut them all some slack,at the end of the day they’ve delivered a tremendous run that’s got us out of this crap division.Maybe a bit of complacency set in yesterday and a few had over-celebrated after last Saturday,but Morsy’s absence certainly had nothing to do with that.If we’d still have needed a result yesterday I’m certain it would have been a very different game.
You're absolutely right....I know everyone has been praising our squad this season, but the championship is a totally different ball game (quite literally). We have a fantastic first XI, but the rest I think will not cut it in the championship. We probably need another 4/5 players that could challenge for first team if we are thinking about challenging for the play offs. Priority for me is two strikers....Hirst if Leicester want to sell, plus A N other
Defininetly the morning after performance but it did show how much we miss Morsy when hes not available, ok it didnt matter if we didnt win but still was a bit flat. Clarke came on and didnt last long before being sent off for behaving like a silly boy which means he misses our first game of next season, ( have a word Kieron ) theres no excuse for for it last game of the season or not. Congratulations to Plymouth for being Lg1 Champions and passing 100 points which shows it wasnt a fluke, but remember our side wasnt put together until after the January transfer window so it was a great performance from our boys, if only we had this team at the start of the season. So looking forward to next season with no doubt a lot of players leaving the Club and hopefully some quality coming in, exciting times so lets enjoy our Summer.
As I feared, performance levels certainly dropped yesterday and we couldn't get the full three points (which wouldn't have been enough to win the title anyway). Ultimately, we can't really fault the players or the staff. Yes, it was a flat, uncharacteristically poor performance and we didn't win. However, the mentality and focus was never going to be entirely there after the understandable celebrations over the last week. When Plymouth took the lead, you could see the performance levels dip lower. Full credit to Plymouth for topping the table and grinding out a more consistent set of results over the course of the season - 101 points, what a total! For us, it's a day of celebration at Christchurch (for those that are going, anyway) and we can soak in actual success. Then it's onto the summer and continuing to refine this squad and set us up to build on the positive development over the last several months.
Yeah, on reflection, I was a bit harsh on Donacien. I watched the game late last night and had a few beers. Probably shouldn't be posting at that time
