@anton_ferdinand Buzzing for Sunderland even better that they’ve beat Millwall to a playoff place on the last day of the season!
Well I had a very pleasant afternoon in the local pub ignoring the scores. just finished watching the game. I have no words.
I'm one of the old sods on here, and I've been going since the sixties. I've spent most of that on the edge of my seat, hoping we would be okay in whatever game we might be playing. The cup team and Reid team being the only exceptions that spring to mind. But I actually sit back and watch this team. If we cop one, like did against Stoke, we cop one. They just keep playing their game and are brave and constant . It is bloody fantastic to watch a team and the players in it, grow up in front of your eyes. Another free hit to come. Owt could happen, and whatever it is is okay by me. As for TM., I just think he is absolutely in his element here. His teams have always played good football and he's always liked and been good with young players. So he's living at home, gets a call from us. They say, " Tony we want a team that plays a possession game whoever is the coach. And we want a coach to bring on a load of young players. And we've got some more coming. Oh, and don't bother yourself too much about results. Top six not an aim" No wonder he's loving it and doing it better than he's ever done it!
Good post mate , Goodman is one of my all time favourite Sunderland no 9's, yet until recently he hasn't had a good word to say for us, something difficult to understand having seen him play, almost like a one man team at times. Whatever his problem was, its nice to welcome him back into the fold . PS I think we have found our partner for Dan in Pierre, and I still prefer a back 3 , with wing backs, although I realise its not perfect , or everyone's choice, in football it rarely is. And finally Tony's subs today were unbelievable, I've watched football a long time and never seen a game better managed .
I dunno how he could look at that today and think Stoke is the place for him, but short career so can’t blame him if he does choose the money
Hopefully doesn’t happen. But I remember Wyke went down a similar root and what has he done since he left us.
Said this to my boy earlier, be interesting if we were to go up. I would if the contract would be signed a little quicker
ALS Facebook page CLARKE POST PNE Clarke finished off our 3-0 win in style today with another Jack Clarke trademark goal. Here’s what he had to say after the match... DELIGHTED “Obviously delighted to get in the playoffs but we know there’s a big game on Saturday and a big game again, I’m not sure when the second leg is but we’re just taking it in our stride, we’ve set the goal between ourselves at the start of the season and it’s amazing to achieve it but now we’re in there we’ve got to keep going, got to push on and that takes us into Saturday.” TWO BIG GAMES AHEAD “Like I said, we play again Saturday and we take it in our stride, we’re not getting too ahead of ourselves, we know what we’ve done to get into this position and how well we’ve done to get in this position but if we don’t get any results in the next two games then it doesn’t really mean anything.” PATIENT BREAKDOWN “We knew obviously we do our prep and stuff like that, we know Preston are tough opposition and we knew it would take time to break them down, we created chances in the first half and didn’t take them but then again so did they but we knew once we got that first goal things would open up more and they did, got the second and the third and we could relax from there and just wait for the other results to come in and thankfully they did.” THE GOAL “It was a great pass from Joff to set me away and once I get to them areas I think everybody knows what I’m gonna try and do but it’s just sometimes it comes off and sometimes it doesn’t and thankfully today it came off.” LUTON “We’ve had two good games against them this season already, we’ve drawn twice against them and we’ll do our prep this week and we’ll be ready to go Saturday and it’s going to be a tough test but they’re all tough games in this league no matter who you play. We’re looking forward to the challenge and we’ll take it in our stride.” THOROUGHLY DESERVED “I think it shows how far us as a team and how far the club have come to be honest, I think we thoroughly deserve to be in the top six based on how we’ve played this season and results we’ve picked up. We feel unlucky to not be already cemented before going into today but we’re in there and I think we thoroughly deserve to be there.”
Has anyone commented on just how filthy our goals were today. Pretty sure their keeper is a Mag aswell.
