WATFORD V STOKE CITY Vicarage Road Stadium Monday 8th May 2023 Kick Off: 1500 BST please log in to view this image Game number 46 has taken it's time arriving, but it is finally here. A season that both these two clubs will want to forget in a hurry. Much was expected of Watford and Stoke, but little has been delivered, and each set of players will no doubt have one eye on a beach far away. When taking into account the lack of quality shown on either side across the season, that is probably unlikely to change here. Watford really should have done better, and there was hope that a young manager, with lower league success, might be a throwback to the day that a young GT arrived and turned the club around. It was not to be, and no stoking of the fire by three head coaches in the season could bring a flame to light the dark and cold days. For this encounter, we will no doubt see players wearing a Watford shirt for the last time. According to some disgruntled fans, all the starting eleven, and those warming the bench can be disposed of, along with coaches, medical staff, management and owner. My suspicion is that this will not happen, but there will have to be new appointments as soon as possible after this game, and let us hope for a coherent policy in recruiting players. One player that has probably received more praise than criticism has been Joao Pedro. The 21-year-old joined Watford in 2020 and has scored 24 goals in 109 appearances, including 11 this season. He is off to join Brighton for a large enough fee to help balance the books, and we can wish him the best of luck on the south coast. Our Officials LEWIS SMITH Craig Taylor and Mark Stevens Fourth Official : Andy Davies “We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” Martin Luther King Jr.
Will we see more young players in the team or as we were minis 2 of our more creative players which really doesn't bode well?
I hope Pedro gets a little run out at the end, he deserves it. Thnaks for the thread OFH. Just seen the game is Monday. Why? I was going to get up early for it tomorrow!
Just had a ganders at the news on bbc, I see some big eared, assasinating twat is ruining my Saturday. The Prem games are going ahead mind.
I guess it makes sense as it will be a public holiday, and all the games can be played at the same time.
The police didn't want any games at lunchtime in the London areas so all the games had to be moved in the EFL till the Sunday and Monday because it's the final day so all the games have to be played at the same time. I guess Sky then wanted it not to get in the way of their Premier league TV games.
As a gesture to long-suffering fans who have stuck with the club this season it should probably be free.
I have complained to both the club and the service provider and have had no response from either of them, let alone money back.
Do I fork out £10 for Hive was the question? Daughter has invited us for lunch and tea, so the answer is no. I will miss it completely.
But they had Palace/Spurs, which I know isn’t a big London derby, but it is two London teams. Very strange.
