Watching a fairly turgid Cyprus vs Scotland match - wondering if there are any Cypriots in Cyprus?

Betty, you are joking;) A couple of sentances, no chance!

Are you a quick reader as a small book could be written on this week? :(

Haha! I think I've got the general idea... a quick glance at the forum and wobby tells me that Bassini is resigning but nothing is changing but actually he isn't resigning he's just upset because he only gave a couple hours notice that he was too ill to attend the fans forum despite having been ill on and off for the past month or so and GT said something about the lack of notice so now Baz isn't going to talk to him so there :p

    Is that about right?

Through my eyes Betty it looks like this.

People are pissed because LB did not turn up at the Forum due to illness but due to a balls up somewhere no-one thought to tell anyone that he might not attend. People then got pissed and came up with a conspiracy that he was screwing us. He then came out the next day and spoke to the club confirming he is ill and sorry for missing the forum. At the forum GT sniped at LB a fair bit and suggested that he was useless (in fewer words) which prompted LB to snap back saying he would withhold the £1,000,000 the club needed to carry on, unless GT appologised. He also said he was considering stepping down as Director on the board to stop any arguments (i assume). Today LB said he would not step down from the board.

All of this could have been sorted if GT and LB had sat down like adults and had a polite chat behind closed doors. We do not need to know about the in-fighting, we have enough issues to worry about as it is.

No Dan, I would not put it like that. Far to trusting of you I think in what Mr B has to say. :(

So prove to me that he is not ill?? We are all jumping at shadows and forming conspiracy theories based on what GT has said!! Give Bassini the chance to give his side before we crucify him!!

He has me his duties and kept his promises so far, so why wont he in the future??

I base what I said on the following Dan. He said that he had been ill for some time, not just something that happened that day. Under those circumstances you would have thought that he would have prepared a set of notes about the various schemes that were on going and given them to GT and ST in case he couldn't get there. That would have been the thing that most people would have done and if it had been the two directors could have stated that he was too ill to attend but they had the information from him on the likely questions.

Thats a fair point Frenchie I must admit the rumours broke out about an hour before it was due to start ! Would all of those folk turned up if they knew Baz was going to do a no show , some folk drove over a couple of hours to get to the forum , to be told right before the start that the main attraction had bottled out!

That is true enough Frenchie, but then again why did GT make it out as if Bassini had dropped out at the last second with no previous mention? Everything we have seen could be rubbished from one side or the other. Untill we see some hard proof that Bassini is robbing us, or failing us why should we hang him??

As i mentioned before, Bassini is meeting the repayment schedule, he has given the money for players, he is renovating the red lion, he has invested in the pitch and pa system and is sorting the SW corner. What else can he do??

Dan I am not trying to hang him, in fact I have until the last few days been prepared to judge him on results. I have been through a similar experience as GT & ST with secretive owners, so have seen the warning signs before.

As for your specific points the first repayment on the schedule is due next March so we don't know on that.
Given money for players, yes but how much of that has come from where? Ashley's money just about covers that and the saving on NE goes a long way to paying the wages.
Renovating the Red Lion. Why? It was never part of what he said he was going to do, and seemingly is just a whim on his part.
The pitch has been improved for now due to the weather. It was not clear on Tuesday that the new pitch requirements regarding levels etc. have still been agreed to. It was delayed due to indecision, then the let out of Sarries came along.
The Pa system that he said had been done, had not. It is being done now.
The SW corner work would start in October. It is still being sorted and no contractor has been appointed.

I don't think that he knows what he is doing, although he might think of what he would like to do.

All true, but he has not just said those things. he has acted on them. LA and GS often said that the stand and the pitch and the like would be done, but then the money was not there suddenly. I know we are not there yet, but it looks like it will be done.

I dont know why he is doing the red lion, but he promised it and is doing it. He now has a full time team of groundsmen looking after the pitch, whereas before there was not.

I thought he had paid off some of the debt already, which is more than was done before.

I am not criticising you personally Frenchie, i simply think people are judging him on the no show rather than the big picture.

I am not criticizing you either Dan. The man is secretive about his past, where he gets money from, how much money has come in, is the £1m he is going to put in simply re-cycled money from player sales, you can go on. When the club was on the Stock Exchange you could see what was happening, but one of the first things that he did was to have it delisted so that we cannot see.

In a strange way LB is doing well. He set a goal and is going there. The one strange thing is he has a skill for shooting himself.
