He gets a bad rep, but he’s better than pep, he’s Sam allerdici… he’s better than pep they said he would flop, but he’s better than klopp, he’s Sam allerdici he’s better than klopp we’ll only get better, cos he’s ahead of arteta, he’s Sam allerdici he’s ahead of arteta …. it’s ok, the taxi’s waiting
Is that why you haven't posted for ages, you been too busy writing song lyrics. Please don't take any more extended absences, if that's the result
Yep it's true, were gonna have to do it all again, but hopefully come away with something this time, agree with what a lot of you are all saying about, (and i know it's been only one game) why the fook didn't we get sam in instead of Gracia i know something to do with Orta maybe, so i guess it was rads who supposedly knows nothing about football, got him in hopefully just in time, if this is the case then radz deserves a medal for not only bank rolling us, but using a bit of football common sense in the big desision to get rid of Orta and employ sam, i just hoping that bit of football wisdom didn't come to late.
Hindsight. The Gracia appointment obviously came from nowhere, but you could kind of see the logic in it given the time he had at Watford and a few were rightly asking whether he should be kept on for next season after a steady start. I'm sure there would have been lots of questions of the big Sam appointment after the Everton game, less so now given our desperate situation.
I guess most of you must have seen Sams this post match interview https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/65468774 but here is a guy who appears to know something about Football and says what he sees.
And if you have not already guessed i like him, possibly the most likeable, manager/coach we have had, since some time before, or after Bielsa.
Liked all of that. One worry. Our players are fragile mentally and physically so think Struijk is done for Sam (one of our subs gave away the penalty he said). But yes, a football man.
Have to say our goal led a charmed life at times today and we could have easily shipped a few more, especially from Haaland. That said we stuck to the task, kept our shape and overall put in a decent enough performance. Really pleasing to see plenty of fresh legs introduced to keep up the energy levels and for once we finished the game strongly which is something we've not seen of late. Bamford was the only major disappointment really for me and he needs to take a look at that performance and ask himself where was his fight and determination because it was severely lacking. At least we move onto next week with something to build on.
Think criticism of Firpo for the goals conceded is harsh. With us playing 3 central midfielders we really should have been able to deal with square passes to the edge of out box. Junior didn't get skinned, didn't allow a cross or shot and even got forward to head the ball to Rodrigo for our goal. Not saying he was great but he did ok enough so why pick on him ?
Or show him inside and make him pass it square. We really shouldn't be leaving the edge of our box unprotected when we have everybody back. Central defenders too deep and midfielders virtually on top of them is the positional fault and it keeps occuring.
You don't show attackers on to their preferred foot. That's under 9's stuff. To do it once is a mistake, to do it twice is just dumb. In the 2nd half on one occasion he showed him down the outside and Mahrez ran it out of play after a heavy touch with his right foot.
It's acceptable if the attacking players just simply lays it off which is what happened and Mahrez didn't hurt us all game.
