It's a weird feeling happyish after a 2.1 defeat. Yes we rode our luck, but we have a chance IMO and we are playing teams who are no Man city. Keep the faith.
I will actually be watching match of the day tonight for the first time in weeks and looking forward to it.
The only disappointments for me was Bamford and struicke, had to close my eyes and cross my fingers when he had the ball , but overall that performance was light years ahead of anything i have seen in a long time.
If we end up being relegated, then so be it. But if it has to happen, I just want to see us go down fighting rather than coming over all French and meekly surrendering. Maybe Big Sam can inject the passion that has been missing since Bielsa's departure, in which case we could still escape.... It's the hope that kills.
I know exactly what you mean. Switched if off after city’s goal but turned it on again just in time for our big finish.was better than most teams get at city and that Rodrigo could even keep us up with the tight goal difference
I could never not watch a game if it's on telly. I'm hoping to get a ticket on Tues for the spurs game.
Sams after match interview has nailed the problem, giving possession away by poor passing, in critical areas , and Sams going to work on that
Three games left, five points needed to be sure, are we capable of getting them? well i now have hope, which is more than a week ago.
Playing like that today I’m hoping for 9 points, it’s doable as Man City are the best team in the country and possible world right now.
Agreed that Bamford didn’t hold it up well at all and we need him to do that to be able to play like this. Thought the only others that didn’t do well today were Harrison and Roca, Harrison lost the ball a few too many times and Roca went missing. Thought the rest did well, especially the keeper. Actually Gnoto went missing too. Probably same starting 11 next weekend.
A lot of hopes now pinned on Brighton and Southampton both to win. If that happens then at least we will have a bit more control over our fate.
What can I say. Great to see a bit of fighting spirit. Man City, the best team in the Premier League by a country mile reduced to holding it in the corner from their corners, I never thought I’d see the day. Struijk is gone, what the hell has happened to him? Think Sam used the game to look at his squad as much as he could, he clearly doesn’t rate Robin Koch unless he was injured. Thought we had some good structure to our play but thank fook Haaland is a Leeds fan. One game so not going over the top. Hopefully Newcastle, settled nicely in the top four won’t be fully on it. Also think Karl Robinson is a pretty decent coach as well.
