Well what a week that was and for much of it I felt ashamed of my club. Butt of jokes, a laughing stock and then vilified by Piers Morgan, Jim White and Simon Jordan and even Leeds media having a go. Yet the father of the kid said he had a great day and longer video showed some players talking to him and signing autographs, but the damage was done. Victor Orta has also had a great week and if he had done in December what the board wanted him to do maybe things would have been different. Arrogance is probably his downfall as he wanted to stick with Marsch and then he wanted to stick with Gracia, crazy. Steve Bruce, Big Sam, Rafa Benitez, Warnock, Big Mick? I believe the days have gone when these types of manager get jobs. Big Mick made a pigs ear of the Blackpool gig this season after being parachuted in to save them, he walked after making them worse and have now been relegated. Rafa broke a brittle Everton and Steve Bruce has never been a serial winner as a coach. Bruce at Newcastle had a win ratio of 28% and his last job at WBA he was even worse. Big Sam has better form than most if you think that he has a 100% record as England manager and a decent record at WHU and Everton, better than the present managers, however his time at WBA his last gig he only had a 15% win ratio. Rafa is a strange one as he really does have form and has a stellar CV after managing some of the top clubs in world football, Valencia, Liverpool, Milan, Real Madrid, Napoli, and even did a great job for Newcastle under previous crap owner. His time at Everton was blighted because a) he was a Liverpool manager and b) he told home truths about their transfer policy and having too many injuries. He sacked all the medical staff and started again but was never given a chance as the ownership was bent and Russian cash sided with a section of fans who wanted the Red out of the club. Pointless more harping on about the pros and cons of Big Sam. Some will say a very good underrated manager and before his time in many respects, as it was he who first introduced nourishment intake and carbs into players diets. No alcohol and loads of pasta to refuel etc. Fergie at Man Utd followed him and quickly all top English clubs took it on board. We dont however need Jamie Oliver we need a top coach. I hope it works but not holding out much hope. Robbie Kean? Karl Robinson? We will not see Little Sam as he cannot get out of jury service, hence Robinson here. Be very interesting to see if he rests Meslier and uses his old mate Joel Robles who he thinks is great. Will he carry on with McKennie and Roca, will he see something special in Rutter, will he drop Bamford…… ah well it’s the only thing left to look forward to. I will however give Sam kudos for bigging himself up against Pep, Arteta and Klopp. Nobody has the experience that I have, nobody….. Never thought I would experience another season like last season but here we are and this season has been worse. I reckon the health of many Leeds fans has been affected. Heidi should be jogging by now and I bet there are some who are no longer with us due to stress induced strokes and heart attacks. I’m even blaming Orta for giving me cancer, and bet Boggers would still be here …. Ferguson, Allerdyce, McCarthy, Warnock, Redknapp, Bruce all have one thing in common …. Will not work under a DoF whereas every team in the Prem has one now, except Leeds since Orta went? Yes it’s the last throw of the Allerdyce
Not everyones choice of manager, Sam, in fact probably nobodies. However what were the options. Gracias hopelessly out of his depth, same as predecessor. Clown who appointed them couldn't be allowed have any further say in the running of the club and exactly who else was going to take the gig and potentially make any difference with four games remaining (three really). Sooner this season is over the better. Couple of highlight games, most of the rest dross. As Ive said elsewhere, I wonder who will be charged with trying to move the project. Were not a very attractive proposition at the moment
Stuart Webber seems to be the big rumour 2002–2009 Wrexham (Head of Youth) 2009–2012 Liverpool (Director of Recruitment) 2012–2013 Queens Park Rangers (Head of Scouting) 2013–2015 Wolverhampton Wanderers (Head of Scouting) 2015–2017 Huddersfield Town (Director of Football) 2017– Norwich City (Sporting Director)
Not sure about this one but seemingly now Orta has gone we are trying to hijack James Milner to Brighton deal. Kinnear says Milner is a Leeds lad, a product of the academy and should be back here and part of the staff going forward, when not playing?
I only do what stuff is talked about and trust me this one has legs but much depends on how much Norwich expect us to pay. The real question should be: who the fk came up with this name over a load of more rational names
Afraid I can’t find time to post of late I’m too busy shovelling a pile of **** Hopefully by the time I’ve finished we are still in in the PL big Sam has earned his crust we have a good DoF And a new quality coach And somehow got rid of all the dross that Orta gave stupid contracts to Anyway must go these fumes are killing me and I’ve got to make room for the next lot
Think it’s about time to hit the pub for a few Asahiiiii’s Cheers and hope everyone has a good weekend
It’s the hope that destroys you I started talking to a mate (WBA) supporter about it, I was trying to have an ounce of positivity, he just burst out laughing and said mate listen to yourself, you’re living in cuckoo land
Remember all the talk about Chelsea wanting Orta, I wonder if they got him and he got them Fwank because Chelsea results are worse than ours
Even Brighton have a star recruiter and look at them now. Recruited a player who became a World cup winner, have a south American youngster potential super star, good manager…..
We had Orta who i disliked from day one. Crap at boro but even worse at Leeds. He has put the club in considerable debt.
Can you imagine a new D. O. F asking what his budget is....errrr minus 40 million mate would you still like the job we are having a fire sale.
I see a lot of hope in what Sam’s doing. McKennie looks good and some pretty organised defending. But we do need some decent passing up the sharp end. City were unplayable at times but even the substitutions looked planned
Sam made 1 mistake and that was Bamford ahead of Rodrigo. When Paddy goes off Rodrigo plays up top, first chance goal. Robles and McKennie did great, Forshaw besides his mistake did ok too. We looked more compact and solid but obviously had to allow them to control possession. Wober and Kristensen did ok too but a lack of ball control and decent passing up top let us down
