Tonight the toughest game of the run in surely. We have to go there to win but a draw would be ok. That would leave 8 needed from the last 5 matches.
This team has two jobs. Stop Liverpool getting into the CL and stop City getting a treble. All the goods follow that. Should be ample incentive.
Very tough match ahead. We’ve been extraordinarily poor away against any team in the top half . Seven defeats , 1 draw and no win. And our defeats in many cases have been spectacular, with floods of goals conceded. A draw will be a good result but I’m not confident.
****ing called it. What is it with this team away ? Missing chances that they would have taken at old Trafford. And what’s wrong with bloody Shaw to handle the ball in the last seconds of injury time? He leaves the ball the ref blows for full time. Utd don’t deserve anything if only for that last minute stupidity.
Ample opportunity to score today, Martial and Rashford both blowing chances by hitting it straight at their keeper. We need a genuine striker, we haven't got one. Just ****ing loads of wide forwards not one actual number nine. We're generally OK otherwise. Three players needed next window, all central. Centre forward, centre midfield and centre half, all of them of the very highest quality. Sorry @cytrax, but that's £200mill + and high wages. Have to mention Dalot. He didn't cost us the game or anything (this time) but he's even worse at left back than he is at right back. We need another left or right back as well, so he doesn't have to play. Preferably ever.
Rashford is starting to piss me off a bit. Every time he gets the ball now he goes for goal and is ignoring other players in a better position, yes I know he's scored some great ones this season but is now started shooting from ridiculous angles and distances or trying to take 3 defenders and the keeper on.
You know what, am I imagining that when we've been trying to defend a win or draw away of late bringing Weghorst on late means we've failed at either? Probably not. This experiment has to end, he offers nothing but bluster and effort. He's not even a ****ing out ball, he hasn't got the pace. And we NEVER ****ing cross so what's the point? It's not a coincidence.
Ten Hag just summed it up perfectly. "If you can't win because you don't take your chances, then don't lose." Way I see it, that was our hardest game and it's done. Time to look at the next match. 9 points needed (at most) to get Top 4, in 5 games. I still have a feeling we'll finish 3rd
I’ve discounted this match even before kickoff. As Utd weren’t expected (especially with bookies) to get three points here. And I agree that this was our most difficult match on paper. Now no excuse not to get the necessary points.
Villa was also touted as a hard game and rightly so. We could've drawn both games so I'll take the win and the loss. We absolutely have to go to West Ham and win. I'm expecting a reaction from our players, but the problem is everytime we're playing away we fck up and you expect them to draw a line and put it rigfht next time, and they don't. I'm wondering where the pride is with some of our players. Then you have the likes of Shaw coming out looking all sorry, saying we should do better. Well he can fck right off with that bollox now. I don't want to hear it anymore. Show it on the pitch. We have to go away from home and win convincingly for once.
You are wondering where all the pride has gone, I would suggest it went when Martinez got injured. All the fight, unity and passion just disappeared.
Yeh but what does that say about the rest of them? And I don't mean all of them. Clearly there are plenty, particularly the new players who have a different mindset. I think it's maybe more a case a few of the old guard just don't look good enough without Martinez (or Varane) there.
I don’t know, Chief! I’m just tired of seeing all the insane spend with very little to show for it. At least clear out the house of underperforming players first before simply throwing another hefty budget at the problem. I lean more toward bringing players through the youth system, leverage experience in current squad, and bring in maybe two new players, especially a striker. Then again, we would be foolish to spend £100m on Kane who has one year left on his contract.
