please log in to view this image Manchester City v Leeds Utd Saturday 6th May@15:00hrs | Etihad Stadium With only goal difference separating Leeds from the drop zone, the last team in the World they'd want to face at the moment is Manchester City. With 13 straight wins domestically, 39 goals scored (over these 13 games) and a squad any national side would be proud of, the odds of an upset look bleak Leeds leak more goals than Sam Allardyce has had pork pies! They have only kept five clean sheets all season, but have hemorrhaged 63, more than any other top flight club, including 23 last month. Big Sam will add stability, install confidence, and give the squad a massive kick up the backside; the rest is up to the players. Illan Meslier is likely to keep his place, between the sticks. The under fire shot-stopper has been heavily criticised in recent weeks after a string of poor performances, but his understudy, Joel Robles has had very little game time this season, and making the switch now, could make a bad situation worse. Max Wober is expected to deputise for Liam Cooper, who has not recovered from the muscular injury he sustained last weekend at Bournemouth. Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo are also pushing for recalls. Rodrigo is expected to start on Saturday, though its not understood whether that's alongside Bamford, or instead of him. The season is over for Luis Sinisterra and Tyler Adams, but there's no news on Stuart Dallas who travelled with the team to the South Coast last weekend. Kevin De Bruyne remains a doubt for Saturday, but otherwise, Guardiola has a fully-fit squad at his disposal.
We might as well not bother showing up. pity there’s not an option to forfeit a game and take it as a 3-0 defeat
Straws, they might have one eye on the CL semi on tuesday, New manager 'bounce'. Reality, would any of our players even make the citeh bench? Don't turn up to a gunfight with a knife. Still think we can upset them tho, come on. MOT.
I thought this with Javi but they’ll get a bounce with a new manager and City played full strength for 90 min week so I think the big game players will either be a bit part until they’ve won or be rested altogether for the CL. 3-0 Man City which will be respectful. No matter how we play can’t see us getting anything out of this even with City’s reserves.
Oh are we finally getting our shiny new 55k stadium. Remember when Kinnear said 50k probably wouldn’t be enough
We don’t want our players throwing in the towel so we mustn’t either. I’m hoping to see an effort, I’m more interested in how we will set up and if each of those on the pitch will give 100%. I’d like to see Jack and Gyabi starting, up against their old club, what more of an incentive for those two. The last few games, Aaronson makes you feel like you’re playing with 10 men, Meslier gives every team a 1-2 goal head start. I’d expect to see both dropped
Totally agree. Hopefully we see an improvement. Hopefully we don't get done 5 or more as the players will just retreat further within themselves. That's the real danger in this game. If we get hammered too badly then the 'new manager bounce' may never materialise.
A 1-0 or 2-0 loss, with a good battling display against the best team money can buy would be an improvement and give us hope for the last three games a 10 or 12 nil thrashing would be devastating, another record we will have broken this season **** me I can't believe what I'm saying, What have we become? Leeds United the record breakers
Proof Olof we’re not fit to compete In the pl. when this is the way the vast majority of fans are looking at the game
Hopefully erling will try and remember he 'loves' Leeds and his dad will have a word in his shell to mishit a few shots ...... again expecting at least for them to fight for the shirt(not worked recently) and the sight of big Sam chewing feverishly on the sidelines might just provoke a reaction instead of javi looking like a doe eyed rabbit ...... I'm going for a damn good thrashing ooooh matron or the upset of the year and an open topped bus procession after a 1-0 win
It’s just a game of footy lads so enjoy it and no need to get too down if we lose. Basically a free hit before the real fun and games starts next Saturday against Newcastle.
Had two weird dreams last night(not OLOF weird I might add) One was visions of the players on their knees after the final whistle celebrating a last minute 1 nil winner and the other was the players on their knees and holding their heads in shame after a 10 nil thrashing. Anyway whatever happens, I'm well stocked up on ale..........
We haven't the quality, no where near in comparison, we'll have to rely on hard work, stick to the system and some lady luck, unfortunately she rarely shines on us
