Barms vs Bully on Humber Bridge part 1. I can't wait for the sequel. Like two little chaps squabbling over a bag of chips.

How is it nonsense when it’s a matter of opinion? I’m sure someone somewhere has met Bullard a few times and think he’s a great guy and the sun shines out his arse.

Ian Ashbee is a legend, an outstanding man on and off the field.

I’ve met him several times over the years & purchased watches from him years ago. Always found him to be down to earth, friendly & a decent guy.
Tbh if I wasn’t a city fan you wouldn’t know he was a footballer, none of the usual arrogance

I’ll always hold him in the highest regard as a player. Just think he’s a bit of a knobhead. Perhaps **** was too strong a word and should only be reserved for the likes of Bullard. My mate who played against him when he was at Hull United loathes him though and did use the word ‘****’.

It’s possible to admire someone for their achievements and not like them as a person. It’s also possible for some people to like a person and others to not like them based on bad experiences with them. I met Windass and thought he was a sound, down-to-earth bloke and never had a bad word to say about him then later on I woman I knew said he sexually harassed her in a pub and flashed his cock at her.

I would imagine your mate got a good kicking from Ash
On a football field I imagine Ash wasn’t too friendly

Ashbee never actually played for Hull United. They announced him as a player -coach which was very good PR, but I don't think his knees were in any state to be playing competitive football by then and he never actually got on the pitch.

Interesting. Maybe my mate and Ash had words on the touch line then. My mate said he definitely had run-ins with him in when Ash was at Hull United and he was playing for another team in the Humber Prem. My mate doesn’t use the word ‘****’ often so it stood out to me when he was telling me how much he can’t stand him.

Yeah I agree - he knew his time was up and so lived it up, which was bad form and he'll never be well liked for it.

At the golf day I was at, he was with his father, or stepfather or in law, so was relatively quiet and he beat the club professional and gave his prize to charity, which was kind of him, so I can't write anything personally bad about him, but professionally is another matter.

Ive never met Ian Ashbee, but not sure how any City fan can have a bad word to say about him.

I recall a few teams that thought it was clever to throw abuse at Ash and Curtis, and not all if it was humour or banter, so I can well imagine there could be occasions where one or both of them offered a robust response.

Whenever I've met Ash, he's been an absolute toff and a fine ambassador for the club and the region in general.

It's a matter of opinions. I've always found him to be fine when I've met him but know people who, like your mate, use far stronger words.

Wasn't it him and Bullard in the infamous 'lobbing their change all over Garbutts' story every time they got served at the bar?

He was definitely sat with Bullard betting with each other on who could get chewy closest to Phil browns feet during a game in which both were not playing. My father in law was working for Hull FC at the time and sat right behind them. £20s changing hands non stop.

As I said I find him to be a nice bloke whenever he is in my company but don't doubt he has been a dick when associating with one of the biggest arseholes in football.

Funnily enough I was discussing Bullard with @FER ARK & @askewshair t'other night.
I was convinced Bullard got injured away at Villa.
    Maybe that was another injury?
