Ah it’s all good lad. As Neville says time and time again, weird things happen at Anfield.

I mean even Klopp has a clone of himself as his assistant but with glasses on. Weird ****ers.

No, it won't. Let's keep Doom & Gloom Troll under wraps for now.

We will definitely be ready for Champions League, because in the highly likely event we get it, the owners will invest further and bring in both marquee signings and squad depth. That was going to happen anyway though, as the squad continues to improve under the new owners.

If (I hope this doesn’t happen obviously) we qualified for the Europa, what calibre of players do you think we’d be looking at?

I’m gonna miss seeing Bobby Dazzler shopping in my local b&m’s buying a bundle of Colgate advanced white.

Vastly better than last time we were in the Europa - ie better than Anita, Bigirmana, Obertan, Marveaux, Abied etc

If we only qualify for the Europa, I can see us focusing more on League cup and FA cup, just playing a lesser time in the Europa and leaving it to go under the radar.

I don't think CL failure will massively affect our recruitment tbh, on the basis that we signed Bruno when we were bottom of the league, and Isak and Botman after finishing 11th.

So you're saying the Europa League doesn't hold back clubs in the league ? Please note history doesn't agree with you and others are also in full agreement with myself.

The rest I agree with as explained in the OP.

Forgot you were a Scouser... busy day.

Sold our soul for a gold coin is an interesting take. You lot will be next. Jurgen will only be able to complain about the ceiling for so long, and FSG will have to get significantly more investment to be able to continue to compete.

Back to your original point, that we would buy our way to success ala City and Chelsea... If you (and you may) understand the way that the finances work in the modern game, you'd understand that we are just not able to spend the money that those clubs did in order to grow the revenues and be able to compete with squads as expensively assembled and well paid as, erm, Liverpool (among the others) for instance. We are so far back on revenue, that we can't just bring in the premium players on premium wages across the board like City and Chelsea did, which drove their success, and built their brands and European standing. We've got FFP holding us back.

The fact that we've been given an opportunity to potentially jump the gun into the CL this year due to you lot and Chelsea being dog **** (in comparison to recent years) is a MASSIVE thing for us to be able to grow commercially. If we make it, it will accelerate the growth of the business model significantly - and we won't have done it by buying our way there, we'll have done it by you lot letting us in. No wonder Jurgen seems highly strung atm.

Who says he's not good enough? I think the only thing that's being questioned is if he's the right one for the money. No doubt he would improve the team / squad - but the pot isn't endless.

    Short version:

Thanks for letting us into the CL by being **** most of the season. Didn't even need to buy our way there.

No, I just disagree with your assertion that it will be years before we get another opportunity if we don't make CL this season. Our squad and club is massively on the up and only going to get better.

The fans on here without mentioning names have already had moments when they've been critical of the new owners.... especially in windows, but that's reasonable debate

I forget these days that we're living in a world where you tubers and people that have never even kicked a ball are now the world's greatest scouts and financial experts.

Youtube and twitter really are where fan opinion has gone too far imo..... fans reading what these arseholes say and rolling with it.

Raphinha was the driving force being behind a fantastic Leeds team, and this season he's got 10 goals and 11 assists at Barcelona....how is this not good enough?
