Off Topic The Coronation Countdown Calendar, cut out and keep souvenir edition

Honestly though, take a step back. Can you not see, particularly when we have an actual match that the use of the match day prefix on a forum (as prefixes are on any forums anywhere) used for actual matches? We all get the joke, and yes of course it makes better sense under a match day prefix, but I promise you that putting it under 'off topic' isn't going to stifle your fledging comedy career.

That's just the way any forum operates. If it didn't it allows the format to be open to all sorts of nonsense. It really, really doesn't matter, and people can't wait to take cheap shots at Tom for basically just doing his job. It happens the whole time, and it's quite unpleasant. Throwing toys around the place and swearing at people because you didn't get your way, well come on, are we not a bit better and older than that? (And it really isn't about "discouraging alternative points of view" - that's just a bee buzzing in your bonnet about other stuff).

 

If you want I can close this thread to avoid any temptation. If I really wanted to I could merge this thread with the off topic thread then you could call me a ****ing arsehole.

Can I add that we quite often have a pop at Tom for doing his unpaid job.

My burning question is that for 70 years we have had the same Coronation Chicken. Will the flavour change now we have a new king?

 

Personally I think that Tom should've acknowledged the joke and then said i'm sorry but i'll have to change the prefix, it would've caused less fuss that way.

I agree it's a small part of the thread, so why not just leave it as it was? Misuse of the Match Day prefix? Do me a favour. It was hardly going to confuse anyone into thinking It was a real match or throw the forum into anarchy. It was high handed and yes, ****ing pathetic (not Tom is ****ing pathetic as you tried to imply) and you defending it does your credibility no favours either. In fact, your whole post is full of exaggeration and untruths and if you can't see how people with alternative views are treated differently on this board, then I don't know what you've been reading.

I usually have no problem with Tom, his comments or how he mods. I was reacting to this one piece of unnecessary modding and not as you suggest part of an unpleasant conspiracy.

Earlier you mentioned an "unnecessary pop at Tom" but he then posts this;

Being unpaid doesn't mean that the mods can't be challenged or questioned about what they do. Yes, it is obviously off topic but what harm does it do to put a Match Day prefix on it? It was part of the joke.
If anyone can give me a good explanation as to why it was necessary, I might agree but to me it looked like modding for the sake of it.
