I think as always it depends on the game and the opposition, but there is scope for all of them to used in certain circumstances. <ok>

I would not 'drop' anyone of them, substitutions have been a part of the game for a long time now and the beauty of the current Spurs squad is that we have a bench consisting of quality players capable of coming on and changing the game. One of the most important roles of the Manager is to keep his eye on the game as it unfolds and make the right substitutions at the right time. That's what having a squad is all about isn't it!

If I was 'arry and Danny told me to pick Sandro for the next few games then I would remind him that I am the manager and therefore responsible for team selection. However taking the point that we want to keep Sandro and all the squad happy then rotation is required, but this shouldn't be to the dramatic detriment of the team as a whole. Therefore for me it depends on how well drilled we are at playing using different formations, but in general I'd want to stay "as we were" and for me that means Parker.

Yes he has been outstanding, but as a like for like switch we don't disrupt the team too much as a whole, with the quality and style of the opposition determining when and who to rotate. Secondly I think it keeps players "hungry" if done regularly and fairly.

I'd also drop Lennon. I was surprised he got back into the starting lineup, and while he's played well, I still think playing Lennon or Defoe with one holding mid is only the best idea against weak teams/at home. If it had to be one team for everything, I'd have both Parker and Sandro in and drop Lennon. I agree with Ghoddle, in other words, that it would be a better team: considerably better defensively, and only a little weaker attacking.

Disagree, Lennon is in arguably the form of his life at the moment and has been strongly involved in many of our goals, bringing in Sandro as his replacement and pushing VdV out wide would significantly reduce our attacking threat.

Hi WY, unsurprisingly I disagree, because VDV wouldn't be going out wide, he'd be playing pretty much as he is now, an attacking free role. In this system we dispense with one of the wingers using Walker for that side as and when.

Lennon is doing well ATM, but for me VDV is better, it's that simple.

I don't dispute that VdV is a better player than Lennon, and that playing Sandro over Lennon is a very good option when we need to play more defensively, but redwhiteandermblue was suggesting that replacing Lennon with Sandro would only make us slightly weaker in attack, I just don't see how this can be true given Lennon's recent creativity.

It's because it frees Modric to play the role Iniesta plays for Barcelona and gives VdV more room. Therefore it improves both attack and defence

I think Power Spurs has given a very good answer to this. IF Sandro and Parker can dominate the mid, that allows more freedom for Modric to attack, and hopefully VDV will see more of the ball as well.

We won't know till we try it, but I'd be fascinated to to see what happens.

Looks like this poll could have been an omen, after VdV goes off holding his hamstring,so it looks like it's VdV as the one to be replaced(hope not though).

Hi Pat, has VDV got injured? Re the poll, it's Lennon who is the clear leader to be dropped, not VDV.

Thanks for update folks, and don't forget Sandro went off with a possible injury for Brazil, so it could be the 'front six' picks itself, ATM.

Naturally, I massively hope both Sandro and VDV are ok.
