Well we all agree we are having a crap season and not a good time at all but least the majority of posts on here are interesting, make good points, no one is abusive even if they don't agree with you and overall people are very funny. So that's a positive thing if nothing else.
The thought of a clean slate next season and P0 W0 D0 L0 is very appealing, even if it is in the Championship. Reckon it helps keep this thread positive.
Do we have any idea as to Perraud's injury at the moment. There's lots of the types of supportive messages from the other players cropping up on Instagram which would indicate it's a more serious issue? My guess at the time was metatarsal, which I guess would make sense.
Probably Plymouth. My brother in law will be unbearable as will his cousin? I'm prepared to put up with a lot for Saints but that is too much I fear.
Answering my own question here - it's a long-term ankle injury (ligaments) for Romain, and he may not be back in time for pre-season.
Last time Saints had a record like that must have been the Southern League days - which people often don't realise was a professional league. Three defeats all season - imagine that Most of us would be chuffed with just three home defeats.
Maybe Prowsie and Lavia will have a freak collision and break each others' legs on the last game of the season.
I look forward to August 2023 being a repeat of August 2022, whereby we start Djenepo at LB due to Perraud missing pre-season with injury. Djenepo duly puts in a couple of half-decent performances and is duly rewarded with a nice new contract extension.
I remember drawing with them at St Mary’s, might have been our first home game in the Championship? They celebrated like they’d won the FA Cup.
One name to keep an eye on, Carlos Borges. Finished top scorer in Premier League 2 this season. We were rumoured to be after him last summer, and again as recently as March. He's a Man City youth player so hopefully Wilcox will bring him with. Almost certainly going to be loaned out to one Championship team, you'd expect.
We played them at home first game or early season more than once, the one you're talking about was 0-0 but it was in September but the season we got promoted to the Championship it was first game of the season and we lost 1-0. It was Sunday afternoon I think on TV and all I can remember is we battered them, missed a hatful of chances and they had one and scored. Funnily enough they were our last away game that season and we won 3-1.
