    The playing for pride thread

My last match day thread was over 3 years ago, on 25/10/2019. I retired myself from matchday threads after the 0-9 defeat to Leicester. I have now figured that we have reached new lows and there is nothing to lose.

This will be our first game after our newly crowned King. A new era for the country as we come to the end of an era for our time in the Premier league.

A draw is not a lot of use to either club, expect a winner.

Will it be Forest with their squad of a squillion new players that replaced Archie Gemmill Tony Woodcock and Gary Birtles or Saints with our squad of new players who don't play anymore.

In our Land of Hope and Glory it's long overdue for us to roll up our sleeves, fight for every ball and play with some pride and passion.

In a season with little to cheer, raise a glass, a scarf or a fist for a triumphant finale.

Put out the bunting, fill you faces with quiche, pledge your allegiance to the Saints in one last hoorah.

Join us in our procession to the Championship, not in a golden carriage but Marching in, in style please, with our heads held high.

3 cheers to King Charley (Alcaraz) and the band of troops, in whatever random way they line up.

Make us proud to be in that number, give us cheer, give us faith and gives us hope for the future.

Only thing that interests me about this game is which player will come in from nowhere and start.
Who will be the winner/loser (depending on their perspective) of the tombola this week?
Style points to Selles if the player hasn’t even been getting in the match day squad.

In typical Saints fashion we will probably win this which means Forest will go down and keep one of Everton/Leeds up

I noticed on the Saints' Official Site that tickets for this match, and for the Brighton game, are advertised as being on general sale. This is the first time I've ever seen away tickets openly advertised as being on general sale. It does suggest that fans are not overly optimistic about watching Saints. Having to promote the availability of away tickets is somewhat symptomatic of our fans finally losing patience and faith in the club, for this season at least.

Not sure I’d want to watch Saints if they were playing in my garden, never mind Nottingham

You should do the team talk in the dressing room at half time mate because that is when we seem to lose it somehow.

With Perraud’s injury, the gate is open for Juan Larios to make his debut…

    …as a striker.

I really don’t get why selles has bombed him out.

I thought he was one of our brighter players of the season. At least he can come off the bench and make a difference.
