I was more than happy to respect the outcome in 2016. 7 years on there is a sense it was a case of shooting ourselves in the foot. How long does a democratic vote need to be left alone without people, with the benefit of experience and hindsight, challenging the outcome it has achieved?
Consider that the political class wasted at least three years trying to not do it, and got Johnson as their reward. Two years lost to COVID, so we've had two years of usable time on this. And it seems like every month something we were told was impossible suddenly becomes possible now that the main players have largely moved on.
