More rumours (aren't they all) about Bellingham staying at Dortmund another year and leaving next year with £80m release clause.

Ugarte will have 1-2 players next to him, tasked with progressing the ball either through passing or dribbling. That would be the idea.

MacAllister and Jude, with Ugarte would be immense.

It's funny how you and I pretty much agree on the players we would like brought in but disagree on the players who should leave. I admit to being overly sentimental. It's why I would never have been a good boss.

Haha. In an ideal world, I would like to keep everyone. But unfortunately, we operate on a tight budget so we have to make tough calls :(

But the interesting news is that I think investment is coming this summer (minority sale) ...

It would need to hurry up and appear because our form indicates that all the incomings will be done very early in the transfer window

I don’t see that changing as Klopp likes to have them to work on his methods imho

so not long to hear about in influx of cash

My assumption is that the investment would be announced after signings are done (to avoid being ripped off).

There are murmurings that Barca in for Thiago - if so, it may be a good idea to sell this summer as his contract is up next year I believe.

to free up 200k a week in wages, they can take for a free IMO. (they can't register him though)

My view is simplistic at this point.

Lets grow again from scratch and stop being so loyal.

Alisson hand on heart is our no 1.
Kelleher is out., Davies is coming,
adrian new contract being mooted (vomitous waste of foreign slot)
Trent is the RB, there is nobody else.
Ramsay and bradley are just not there. This is an issue for the no 6 thing as no senior RB cover
Konate is RCB. he's either a hero or looking like a panicked child. also seems birttle.
Gomez is sole back up. (matip gone)
VVD is sole LCB. (major issue here)
Robertson is by far the no 1 LB choice
    Tsimikas is alright for europa
Fabinho with respect is really leggy and past it now. very young to say so but the evidence is clear.
Bajcetic is our option at 6.
LCM is an issue. there won't eb one bar jones in 2 months time.
Henderson is 33 this summer. RCM, i think not.
Elliott is not an RCM. another issue
Salah is salah. just the odd 28 goals and 11 assists thus far. clearly a terrible player
nunez is nunez. we won't be selling
Gakpo is bobby lite in klopps mind
Jota is lw/ bobby lite mark ii in klopps mind
    Diaz is diaz.
Doak is a wild card kid for forwards as Carvalho is likely out.

I make that 16 senior players plus Davies, bajcetic, ramsay, elliott, and Doak making a total of 21

Cleary this is nowhere near enough.

Lets park the forwards. There's 5 very expensive, senior players there who are all ready to go.
Lets park the keepers. We are offering Adrian a 12 month extension for no good reason bar we don't want to bother getting anyone in.

    Defence first:
    RB is an issue.
LCB is a major upcoming issue. So is RCB A buy here looks an absolutely sensible plan to avoid major catastrophe in a years time. We won't buy.

    Midfield next:
There is no two ways about this, it is an eyesore it was last august and will be again.

Henderson is a 20min player very soon, if not already. he is james milner but doesn't realise it yet.
Fabinho won't go but can't cut it.
    Jones is jones.

and thats it really. thats the senior midfield, thats the team that started 3 of the last 4.

elliott and bajcetic are still kids really. nice to have them but with a reputed 433 we need minimum of 6 reliable CMs. We have 3 that won't cut it.

We need 3 but will buy TWO

We have scope for FIVE foreign buys

My view of sales is this
Kelleher - 25mil. he wants to go.
    Phillip - 5mil. at best
Williams. Another minor amount. 2-4 mil.. if lucky
Carvalho. name the price? who knows but i just think he will be out the door as a makeweight to get money in. 20 mil? 15? I dunno.
Bradley - potential for 5-6mil there.
Matip - could be on for a nominal fee this.

lets give ourselves a total budget of 130mil after sales. (bookmark that one, i think it will be really close)

We will get I think max 3 players in with TEN departing.

    Departures:
    Firmino - Confirmed 0
    Ox - Likely 0
    Keita - likely 0
    milner 50/50 0
    Arthur - confirmed.

I have been impressed with Jones recently. He has taken to the new role very well.

Agreed. Think he’s been decent. Stepping up to the challenge.

His work rate is very good. I’m sure the coaches and data guys will be able to tell in more detailed but he seems to be pressing well (to the untrained eye, he’s running around a lot anyway!) which is nice to see. Good goal on Sunday and making a few tackles which is important.

Exactly, he's actually getting involved in duels which is our biggest issue with Fab and Hendo. Fab has been better now with a runner next to him but he's nowhere near his best levels (which I doubt we will ever see return)

The last minor sale/investment didn't benefit the transfer funds

He's been great at pressing which is what we miss with no Bobby.

    and Elliott.

Elliott duel success rate must be tiny.

Erling Haaland has rejected Manchester City's proposal to extend his contract as he does not want to remove his €200m release clause. The Norway striker turned down an extra €40m in salary and an improved goal bonus as well. (OKDiario)

He's only doing well because I said last summer he would never be good enough to be more than back up.
