Very proud of my quarter Irish stock, and three-eighths Scots as well ( though not to be associated with some ****s on here). Also one -eighth German jew, but Diane Abbott is right about that not being a 'race' per se, we just know he was Jewish by family legend, and a dna test confirmed the German/French thing.

Ironic really that all my great-grandparents except the Chinese ones only came to Liverpool with the intent to pass through it to the Americas or Australasia - the only non white ones were the ones who who wanted to stay here and better themselves. Hmm

There was a really good series on BBC2 about a decade ago on the Normans that explored their Viking past. It may still be there on Iplayer or YouTube. Some stuff on Henry I's son and heir being done in on the White Ship rings a bell. They had no RNLI to save them in the Channel in those days though.

That would be the one where you called another poster ******ed for pointing out that Vikings and Normans were 'interchangeable' as Normans stemmed from Viking stock?... a premise that we have now established (and even Kusstard now acknowledges) to be factually correct?
