Monday sees the return of Luxembourg. Hopefully all will go well this year and he gets another crack at the Arc. He won't need to be fully wound up to win this and 4/6 with PP and Betfair looks generous
Amy Murphy sends Mist Of Lir to Saint-Cloud for the opener. Barzalona booked. Currently 9/2. He hasn’t really shown anything in two starts but interesting all the same.
DORKING LAD 25/1 Kempton 3:40 Absolutely bolted up here last season and is now back to a mark not far removed from that success. The jockey bookings make it look like he is the second string but I think they want the very useful claimer on to give the horse every possible chance. I think the price is crazy.
I was thinking Insinduendo May give it a good race but I could be over inflating his win lto. Probably best as just a watching brief.
Warwick 15,12 Dellboy Trotter 12/1 e/w sky four places, three others, 11/1 bet365 four places Down Royal 15,55 Yeah Man 17/2 sky four places, 8/1 others
In the Class-4 Handicap Hurdle at Kempton (16:15), will have a very modest go on the outsider, Runswick Bay,, who should be suited by a return to the smaller obstacles Seems to go well on right-hand tracks too, having been succesuful in two Hurdle events, and a Bumper, at Ludlow, Taunton, and Wincanton. Hopeful the Anico gelding will give a good account. Thomas Bellamy rides for the Emma Lavelle yard. 16/1 (BetVictor/Corals) best price at time of writing. E/W, of course. (Prices from Oddschecker)
I fancy prett boy floyd in the last at the curragh.returns to his favourite track and gets his ground 22/1 with 365 good luck all
Lovely win by Luca Brecel in the Snooker. Think only the 3rd or 4th player from outside of the UK to win the World's. Showed great will to hold off the spirited Mark Selby comeback.
First player from mainland Europe. My old man backed him at 28/1. He done it the hard way, 7 in a row against O'Sullivan, 11 in a row against Si. Every game he played attacking snooker and refused to get drawn into safety exchanges. Well deserved.
I can not watch the safety game bores me to tears but what a great player he is just what the game needed .
Well, I didn't visualise that! And 4/6 was not at all generous as he went off at 10/11. Didn't see the race but I very much doubt the hampering made that much difference. More likely the jockey was to be easy on him. Now we have to wait to see how he goes, and what the trainer has to say
The messy nature of the race probably affected favourite Luxembourg at least as much as any other horse, and in that context his trainer Aidan O'Brien was not too downcast. He said: "He will come on plenty for it. It was a steadily run race but it was good to get him started and he will be back here for the Tattersalls Gold Cup."
