Mate, you need an entire midfield, a centre half, a proper right back, Firmino is leaving on a free, and Salah is one year further towards being old, with non of his 'replacements' anywhere near the same level. That's a rebuild. Which Klopp has thus far ignored.
Yeah - probs Strong Scottish link and close eras Klopp doesn’t seem to have that Don’t get me wrong he has some nastiness in there - way he dealt with Sakho at Alcatraz spoke volumes but he seems to be loyal to those who are loyal to him And it appears to be a weakness but it won’t stop him from being able to rebuild I don’t think but we shall see
We've already replaced Firmino with Gakpo who now plays in his position. Fabinho is 31 and most players in that position play there well into their 30's we need 2 players in the midfield though. As far as replacements go when we bought Salah, Mane and Firmino they were not considered the players they turned out to be to let's see what the replacements can do. Diaz, Jota, Nunez and Gakpo isn't bad some might say very good. A center back would be a good idea imo and we bought a RB in the summer already but I think the current one is doing okay.
Fabinho has turned to ****. His legs have gone. Nunez is average and one of the worst strikers in the league for converting chances. The stats back that up. He’ll never get the goals to win a league title. Tbh, most Liverpool fans I know and talk with, admit that Klopp has just let the side grow old together and hasn’t been able to constantly tweak it so it always remains at the top level. He’s been the same wherever he’s managed.
Yeah, I always hear the owners getting slammed. If you gave Klopp 200m tomorrow, who would he sign? two expensive players perhaps? I can't imagine him rebuilding the entire side.
Tbf, this has been a topic of discussion for a while. Just cos your fifth now and aren't winning dick all doesn't mean it's people chatting ****. Klopp isn't a bad manager, but he did leave Dortmund after they were in a relegation battle.
I'm just watching Motd and I have to say, Frazer Forster has to be one of the worst PL keepers, I've seen in a long time. He tries to save everything with his feet, the only time he uses his hands, is to pick the ball out of the net. When he has to deal with a high ball, he does this awful punch, instead of catching the bloody thing.
Well, a final they were completely smashed to pieces in and 7th, but yeah. #luvgonzochattingshit I mean, the point remains valid. People were openly talking about this last season, that Liverpool needed new players and you were playing well. It had nothing to do with a "bad season"
I don't recall anyone talking about our squad at all while we were winning. The point is valid that he's let the midfield age but he's also brought in young players throughout the squad. 2 midfielders needed and maybe a CB that's it imo.
It's one of my hates of modern football, keepers not catching the ball. I just find it infuriating, keeper puches ball out, only for it to be incoming again. The excuse is they spill the ball otherwise, bollocks do they, they don't if they are any bloody good.
Modern game is dominated by stats. I am sure there is a stat that most managers pull out of their arse. Like "there is a 52% increased chance that a counter attack develops after punching the ball out." Alisson seems to catch the ball a lot, he's the best in the league.
Liverpool best 11 age and their direct back up right now. 30/24 24/19 23/31 31/? 29/26 31/18 32/20 32/19 30/23 23/26 26/26 That shows the issue in the midfield but also debunks the aging squad nonsense.
