We do it with often; bring him on in tight games to use his experience and **** the game down but he's like a young kids making his debut every time. He's as liability in those situations.

He'd just go and buy a couple more players.

Playing with a defence consisting of 2 centre backs and a left back so am not surprised we look wobbly and exposed against a very good forward line. We did do some game management in the last 20 seconds….that surprised me <whistle>

The mighty Manchester City, that only won today because of a wonder goal.

Scored one and thought it would be a walk over, struggled all match to pop a second in.

Good win although rather lucky in the last 30 seconds profiting from Moura’s brainstorm.

Whisper it but we are now in a good position to get top 4. We might just squeeze in on the last day. Newcastle and Man United won’t win every of their games whilst we could/should win all ours.

A lot of work needs doing over the Summer. The current system leaves acres of space. Trent is a great creator and passer, he can’t be a midfielder and a defender at the same time. Trying to cover space left when Trent is forward is causing huge problems and players like Son can really punish you.
I think we will finish 5th but massive changes needed in the structure

The only advantage we have for 5th place is Brighton have to play Newcastle and Utd

Yep, we have to be favourites for 5th now but given how we just played for 70 minutes, I’ll assume nothing. Crazy crazy game.

I've complained often about the back line being stretched and the RCB being pulled out too wide - today we saw the LCB pulled right across to the RH side of the box and we conceded from it.
There's no doubt Trent is a great creator when we're on the front foot, but as soon as anyone gets in behind us we're all over the place. If he's staying in midfield then the system has to change and we'll have to bring in a RB.

Play Gomez RB and Trent in midfield for the rest of the season is the obvious answer

I think I it has to be tried properly like this to put it to bed. I don’t like the idea, personally, in a 433 tbh and prefer a 343 but this hybrid role is clearly also a problem

But it doesn’t work… because then we only have 3 midfielders not 4.

Everyone has to understand it’s not just getting taa into midfield, it’s getting the extra man in. If you play TAA in midfield and Gomez rb then all that happens is Gomez tucks into midfield and you have exact same situation just with Gomez in the middle of the pitch with Trent.

Whenever Trent vacates the RB position no one tries to cover him, and that is why oppositions are targeting the right side of the field where there are plenty of space.

Also no huge surprise on the refereeing performance. Tierney has a personal issue with klopp after he called him out last season.

Tierney ref’d the game last year where he failed to send off Kane for horror tackle on Robertson, then sent Robertson off later in game. Klopp said after that game he has no problems with refs only tierney…

Somehow gets given the exact same game and again doesn’t punish Skipp for poor tackle on diaz (how did he jot even give a foul?!) then somehow give spurs a foul before the 3rd goal n

I thought we would have been lucky getting a draw to be perfectly honest

Over the moon we won but can’t say I felt we deserved to win

Can only see Man U potentially not winning 1 of their remaining league games. Away at Brighton.

Which is no good for us anyway. Brighton winning.

Newcastle again probably only dropping points against Arsenal and Brighton, but both are at Newcastle so I can see them winning those.

I can see us winning the rest of our games as three of them are at home and Soton will probably be relegated when we go there on the last day. Leicester away might be a problem depending on how they get on in the next couple of games.

    5th is most likely now.

Fiery post match words being spoken

    this will rumble on

Klopp going to have a few problems
But he is right to call out Tierney - though Taylor is the worst for me
