I think there are financial restraints @ Forest, I remember Billy Davies complaining about that a couple of years ago! Maybe Steve was promised things there that weren't delivered?
Sorry I didn't realise you were talking about Joyce! I'm excited about McClaren. Not that I think he's wonderful. I just think he's the best realistic option.
!!!! You have no idea how much I would love it if he became your manager. Then again, you said that Roy Keane would be our manager so shows what you know
I didn't realise you'd filled your managerial vacancy yet? Could be Keane's as much as anyone elses. And as I'm sure you're aware, no one here could give a **** whether you'd love McClaren to be our gaffer or not.
Why exactly? You do realise we're 'his club' dont you? And that he's won a major league title, guided a team to the UEFA cup final and managed a major national team. When did Nigel Pearson - who by the way I rate very highly - ever do that?
Probably right but that still leaves him managing a squad that were Playoff quality the season before.
He lost McKenna and Adebola and things fell apart from there It's a concern i've thought of too. Our United youngsters aren't old enough to have worked with him at United and will only know as much about him as we do, i'd rather someone they'd look up to and OGS or Joyce are the best options for that. OGS seems to be a bit of a pipe dream but Joyce could really happen as long as he's interested, if he ever wants to be a first team manager i don't think he's got a better first step than what we have to offer him (I'm aware he's managed before but only us temporarily and Antwerp which is effectively United Reserves Reserves).
Lee Camp at Forest apparently said morale at an all time low when McLaren went. OK, likely to have been currying favour with Cotterill, but even so, not a good omen, IMO, especially as NP et al seem to have built a good spirit in the current squad
Sorry chaps..... McLaren ... NO.. NO and thrice NOOOOOOOOOO, great little midfielder in his days at City, but not for me as manager, last two jobs he`s been in have been a disaster with him at the helm, more than coincidence.
They got rid of several members of that team, Adebola and McKenna to us, Tyson to Derby, Earnshaw to Cardiff etc.
You should tell that to OLM. He even started an article about how Roy Keane was to be our next manager. I'd love to see him with egg on his face and a fork in his hand eating humble pie
