I agree, we need a decent manager (no idea who we can get at that level) decent recruitment, bin the deadwood and rebuild from the bottom up. But with the present idiot making the decisions, who knows.
On the bright side, at least we're not straddled to the teeth with debt like the last time we were relegated from the PL.
Absolutely. I can only assume those who think everything is OK and that we don't have the right to be bloody furious don't actually attend games. Much easier to be relaxed about all this when the only £ you've paid is for your internet connection There is zero, and I do mean zero, chance of us going up next season under a Sports Republic regime. I may be bastardising the quote but "When someone shows you who they are believe them" They have shown time and time again that they make poor decisions regarding our club. Why would that change because the badges on the arms of the shirt are different? It's bizarre that we have such a deluded fan base. I mean it sure helps SR I guess
You are being pessimistic, but I get it. Truth is we are hurtling into the great unknown. We don't know who will be the manager or who will be our players next season. So making any sort of prediction is completely pointless. We could finish top of the Championship, or bottom. Just need a manager ready to come in immediately the day after the season finishes, who ideally already knows now that he is going to be offered the job. Ankersen and the others surely can't just be sitting around expecting us still to somehow stay up. The writing has been on the wall for weeks, so they should already have singled out who they want, and made approaches.
I think the goalkeepers union must have dirty pictures of someone's Nan at the club. It's the only reason I can think why we sign so many fking goalkeepers and they're always so bloody ****
We have Mateusz Lis coming back from his season-long loan to Troyes. Dunno if he's good enough though.
Thought McCarthy was pretty good today actually. Made some top saves. I don’t know what he could have done about any of the goals really.
McCarthy literally saved us from relegation one season, but he does have mistakes in him. Bazunu is a promising player that we have destroyed by throwing him into the fire too early with no support.
My hope being that it won't be that utter bellend making the decisions next season. It'll be Wilcox. Still amazes me Solak hasn't binned him, unless Ankersen has a financial investment in the company.
Ah, completely forgot about him. Another one of Rasmus' FM signings. This would be funny if it was any other club
You know, when I was looking around at City Group personnel the club could target, I did have a passing look at him and think 'bet they would consider gambling on an academy manager'. I think it says everything about the way the club is run that i'm not the only person that thought that.
It’s unbelievable to me that we have managed to get worse yet again. I still think there is a team somewhere in this insanely bloated squad that could have kept us up. We aren’t much worse than Bournemouth, Forest, Leeds etc. But we have never played our strongest 11. Not once. The managers keep ****ing around with proven failures. It’s unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. I knew we’d lose today and been trying not to let saints ruin yet another weekend but **** ME.
He has a very good record with the City u21s (how hard that is is another question) and I’d imagine Wilcox must know him very well due to their respective jobs. I really could see us opting for someone like that if we continue the relationship with City we clearly started last summer. All managerial appointments come with an element of risk and we clearly aren’t going to be able to attract the top managers who come with less risk because we couldn’t do it in the PL let alone the Championship. Who would’ve thought/even heard of De Zerbi when he came to Brighton? Who would’ve thought O’Neil would keep Bournemouth up comfortably? Roy would get Palace to start banging in goals for fun? Managerial appointments are pretty much universally a “who ****ing knows” so you just have to try and get the person who fits what you are trying to do as a club and hope it works .
I said it after the Jan window but if you were to pick a combined 11 from any of the bottom 7 teams with Saints it would be 50/50 in the main, and some teams we’d have more than that. The size of the squad, confidence of the senior players and clusterfuck managerial appointments have been the issue and combined obviously lead to relegation
