The club haven't said anything about us paying a fee. There's nothing to suggest we did. Why would the club not publish that information? They get criticised for not investing so if they did pay a fee, they'd sure as hell tell us about it. So you've assumed there's money to spend and that Grayson is scared of spending? Nice. Nah, I suggest all he's had is the Kasper money. We made 750k off that at the very start of the window and have spent 700k. Coincidence? Doubtful. Even then, that's a pathetic transfer budget to try get promoted on, we're not looking like we spend much more on wages than other clubs and last season showed that you need sustained investment of 4-6m in your team to get in the playoffs, generally. All this after Bates announced a 3m profit. All the signs are that he hasn't been given enough, just like his predecessor and just like his successor if he's replaced under Bates. Our Chairman's holding us back with his insistence on mediocrity. I don't want to see football clubs spending beyond their means and I hate inflated transfer fees (which I think the FA should curtail), but LUFC turn over enough money to have made two or three high-profile, decent signings which would have patched up the team - signings anyone would have made.
