I'd expect that whoever we get in. There's just something about McClaren that urks me. I don't think i have to describe it as i'd imagine people know what i mean, even if they don't agree.
The argument proposed by most in favour of Joyce is that of his links with United, but wouldn't it be more in our favour if he stayed where he was. There's no guarantee that whoever took over from him would want to loan us their players.
Not a bad point but it's unlikely they'd not want their players getting NPC football under their belts
Did anyone watch the U21s last night? Will Keane, United reserve team striker, looked pretty sharp. Wouldn't mind getting him in on loan, even if it meant Brady going back. Desperate for goals.
Not sure it's really that simple - different chairman, totally different squad, new stadium plus more experience for Joyce. Not to mention the fact most fans thought it was a big injustice getting rid of him after the great escape - it was only because of that dickhead Lloyd etc bringing in Hateley to replace him - hindsight can be a great thing and I think it's safe to say that it shows us sacking Joyce was the wrong decision and he's a better manager than Mark Hateley
Get McClaren in but put in his contract that he must: Shave that bit of wobbly fluff off his head and get a good short crop (and keep it that way) Snap his umbrella into at least 3 pieces (and not replace it) And never speak with a Dutch accent again.
Already spotted it and edited it but obviously wasn't quick enough. My head is hung in shame I assure you.
Cannot believe people wouldn't want Steve McLaren! Yes he was out of his depth as England manager but we are not England, we are Hull City! Get Steve in and Barmby as his assistant
Exactly. Joyce replaced Hately, taking over when we were something like 7 points adrift at the bottom.
Perhaps the 'going for the up and coming manager' was all smoke and mirrors and we are going for someone like McLaren. If we do appoint him, I'll hold my judgment until I've seen how we perform with him in charge, the end of the season should give us an idea. Personally, I'd prefer Di Matteo or Karl Robinson but Joycey seems to be the fave at the moment, he's odds on with Sky Bet now.
So what is the consensus as to what happened at Forest? They were a Championship Play-off team when he took over.
I think he will have learned from the England disaster. He'd be pretty stupid not to! I think the Forest issue means we can get him on a sensible salary. I wasn't too impressed at Middlesbrough but they bought some appalling players. Maybe if he concentrates on coaching and a few young players he could do really well.
We can't exactly take what the fail says as gospel. Is there a quote from Adam or the Allams stating were only after an up and coming manager? As at present I feel this is just speculation from the fail, although I'll admit I dint think they'd be far wide of the Mark anyway.
Since Warren Joyce was last in charge there are only 2 managers which have a bigger win %, Little and Taylor. I'd be more then Happy to give Joyce another go. He's my preferred choice out of everyone mentioned! But please not Mclaren, if he gets appointed I will support him and his team but I'd be disappointed if he was given the job!
If you were Cameron Stewart (for example), who would you rather see come through the door: Steve McClaren or Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?
