My opinion is if he was going to sign he would've done it by now. If he fancies following Neil to Stoke then go but he will be missing out on being part of the best side playing some of the best football
Years ago in here we had a poster who had a connection to Wigan and we were his second team apparently. He used to come on here with strange observations at times and he eventually got on my tits so took him to task which is something I don't normally do and got peltters on here for it, things like leave him be he's entitled to his opinion etc. Anyway after a while he stopped posting altogether, he was just strange imo, seemed to typify their fanbase. Seemed to fit what your alluding too CMB.
Home campaign? Or is that because they win the Alex Neil trophy by beating us that makes it a successful away campaign?? Love to see him sacked. But, then again, so would most Stoke fans
Just for balance my eldest's boyfriend is a Wigan supporter - good lad, very down to earth and a true supporter - he is gutted ( I was in Whelans bar at the ground with him before this year's game and had no issues. He enjoys coming to see us play mind!!
Yep. More or less what I was getting at earlier, just a bit more to the point! I still do think though, he is listening to bad advice. If I was on a treatment table, nursing a very bad injury which is notoriously hard to fully repair, I'd have signed the day after it happened. And if I was advising him, I'd be telling him to.
I know someone who goes there occasionally. Neil has not gone down well there and the atmosphere there for home games is awful according to him. Ce la vie. Bullet dodged, I'd say.
I'd like to see more of Matete - hopefully playing most weeks at Plymouth (although I note he's not been starting of late) will have done him the world of good. Think Ba and possibly Ekwah could benefit from a loan next season - having said that, you can see Ekwah improving every week
Agree with most of that. But I do think he’s PL standard personality. Fully fit he’s better, imo, than any other striker in our division. And he will get better too. but, as you say, either commit or get out, we don’t need any prima donnas
Strange that some idiot on twitter, who, I guess, made his mind up after 24 minutes of seeing him trying to get to grips with his first real season, slagged him off. Used a line akin to “never make a footballer as long as I have a hole in my arse” type comment. Thought he was excellent yesterday. Understood Mowbray’s decision to sub him to go fir it too. Made perfect sense.
I agree , bored with it now, we’ve managed perfectly well with this young team and all the injuries this season so we will be better next season wether he’s here or not.
I did particularly rate O’Nien going into this season. I was wrong. Massively wrong. What a lad and what an asset to us, he’s improved so much.
Think people are forgetting how good a player he is mind. Scores and presses from the front. We would have breezed into he play offs with him fit. His goal scoring record to minutes played his unbelievable. Not to mention his help in our own box from set plays. He gives us that option to go long and get players around him, runs the channels too. Let's not let the contract situation cloud judgement of ability.
If his head was turned by AN and promise of a big pay day at Stoke he must have given up on that by now. My guess is he’s hoping for a chance with one of the promoted sides or holding out us to be able to offer more cash at end of season?
I don’t think anyone forgets how good of a player Stewart has been for us, but what is patently obvious to me is that if he refuses to sign a new contract the club will want to cash in on him. What would be a wrong is the club allowing him to go for nothing having run his contract down
