If Pedro has signed for Brighton, I reckon they would ask he doesn't play these last two games for Watford.
From the Watford forum .... Pedro has not travelled with the squad today. Expecting the club to announce a hamstring injury.
I've woken up excited and confident today!! This feels like it could be a huge day in the recent history of our club. Watford are there for the taking. We need to be ruthless and go for the throat. An early goal and the floodgates may open. The longer it goes on, we may get a little nervy.
Daft question....but can Pedro sign for Brighton before the transfer window? That Fabrisio twitter bloke who announced the transfer, also announced Pedro had signed for the mags last August.
I was thinking that myself Snaggey. The way I understand it, if he is in the last six month of his contract he can sign a pre contract agreement with a new club but that would mean no fee was involved. Otherwise he can't sign for a new club until the window opens in July.
Athletic reporting deal in place. https://theathletic.com/4463192/2023/04/28/joao-pedro-brighton-transfer-watford/
After all my whinging about the likes of Millwall, Blackburn, etc, I'd like to see us flying into tackles from the start. We have a justified reputation as a team that likes to pass the ball around and play the right way. I don't want the Watford players thinking this will be 'a beautiful game' they can enjoy. Let's make them think how it would spoil their summer holidays if they were sitting next to the pool with a cast on ... ... the game means nothing to them so get stuck in early and get them wanting to jump back on the bus!
Good luck one and all, last time the lads played in front of 46000 Sunderland fans was a little matter of a play-off final and they passed that one with flying colours...same today will do nicely HTL.
Just read about it TC, apparently clubs/player can come to an agreement but the player can't be registered outside the transfer window, no mention of a contract. So how legally binding would any contract be? It seems to be all smoke and mirrors to me,
They seem to only attract mercenaries, players and managers, with little regard for the club ... ... the old 'Sunderland model'
On the train sitting opposite a Watford fan, he's not too confident today.. He even lent the grandson his card for the picture
