It’s not “equally stellar”, Karun you massive bellend. He’s in a way slower car and is half a second clear of his teammate. It’s an epic effort.
Yeah I don’t hate the pick, would’ve much preferred a trade back but they definitely needed a receiver so can’t really moan
Key for me here is if he is as good as his potential suggests, it will give Cousins and then his successor another excellent receiver and will also force opponents to stop doubling up on Jefferson. Now, he's not going to be another Jefferson. It would be extremely unfair to expect that sort of production from him! But we need a very good WR2 to supplement our superstar WR1. I'm hopeful this guy can be that.
Yeah, it was a big need for the reasons you outline, also I’m sceptical that Jefferson will be with the Vikings for much longer anyway so if he pans out then they have a WR1 replacement as well. Tonight should be pretty boring from a Vikings perspective, just the one pick late in the third, can’t really see them moving around much as they don’t have the capital. Cook/Smith/Hunter wouldn’t get 2nd round picks alone I doubt so won’t be much activity
I guess we are getting nearer to that time where either Jefferson will sign a massive extension or not. If he doesn't then at least Vikings will receive a massive haul of draft picks for him.
Yeah he’s going into his 4th year, they will definitely take up his fifth year option. No real info for my thinking but I just think he won’t want to sign an extension. The Vikings usually have to overpay for players because of the location and he could obviously go anywhere.
Bit odd that you can’t compete in Q3 if you have no new softs left. Not sure I agree with that. Meanwhile Leclerc’s dominance here continues (at least in Q1).
Makes no difference (though he’s a bit annoyed with himself for it, you can tell). He’s bonkers good round here.
Wasn't as bad a shunt as it could have been so looks to have got away with only needing a new front wing.
Didn’t get a QB day two as neither fell enough. Traded back and got 2 picks for today for doing so and took a corner with their only pick last night. From reading it sounds like he was a bit of a reach but at this stage how you order the players will vary massively team to team so am not too worried. Most annoying thing was the guy I’ve wanted them to draft in all the build up got selected the pick before their original pick Think they have 5 picks today, still need a linebacker badly, then depth elsewhere.
Hopefully they've got their eyes on next year's QB class rather than pursue an extension with Cousins. Unless we pull off a trade for Lance (which has a lot of risk attached) those are the only two viable options now.
I think they could do a deal for Lance that involves Cousins if they wanted. The Niners are in win now mode and can’t wait for Lance to develop and Cousins is probably the best QB who realistically would be gettable. I mean we know there is zero chance Cousins can win a Super Bowl, but hopefully the Niners don’t
I do like Lance but there's obviously health concerns and whether he can bounce back from a serious injury. Jackson signing an extension with Baltimore and Rodgers (finally) going to the Jets does help if we wanted to make the trade.
